1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Should I add a little something to my HP stencil? on: July 12, 2011 07:26:54 PM
I've decided to make a Harry Potter shirt for the premiere based on this shirt I found on Etsy:

But when I was printing on the freezer paper I ended up with a lot more free space on the right side.

Do you think I should add something to the side or leave it as it is?

(And I'm doing the Deathly Hallows sign on the back, so I didn't really want to do one on the front)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Book shaped gift card holder! on: June 08, 2009 08:19:44 PM
My co-worker's birthday was the first of June, so myself and my other co-workers went in on a Border's gift card for her. I decided that we needed a fun holder to put it in, and it came to me...A BOOK! a book gift card holder to hold a bookstore gift card!
So here it is...

The gift card pocket and bookplate slot:

I just made it with the cheapo felt sheets and embroidery floss. It ended up with 4 'pages' which is 2 white rectangles folded in the middle. I ended up putting the spine on to hide my shotty stitch work. Overall, I loved it- it was hard to give up, that's been happening a lot lately! =]
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / my 'green' coffee sleeve! on: December 20, 2008 10:45:11 PM
I decided to try my hand at the coffee cup sleeves that I've seen on here recently. I actually wanted to make one for a gift but this was my practice sleeve. The stitching is a little wonky since this is the first thing I've made since 6th grade home ec. so be kind!! I hope you like.

The front

the back

Laid out flat

I got the tutorial for the blanket stitch from the FutureGirl blog.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Cupcake Pick Templates? on: November 12, 2008 07:18:06 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a template to make cupcake picks? I want to make some for my sister's 30th birthday with her picture on it. I'm ready to pull my hair out trying to do this without a template. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
5  COOKING / Dessert / TV Dinner Cupcakes!! on: October 27, 2008 08:13:19 PM
My sister and I made these cupcakes for my uncle's birthday this week. The idea came from the book Hello, Cupcake! It's 2 chicken legs (the third leg broke so it ended up a chicken nugget), mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots and a cupcake for dessert!

The 'chicken' is coated with corn flakes & the bones are white chocolate.
The 'peas and carrots' are green skittles and orange starbursts.
The 'butter and gravy' is a yellow starburst and caramel sauce.
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / peace sign bridge question on: May 28, 2008 09:12:35 PM
I'm wanting to make a shirt with this peace sign (obviously I'll make it a little bigger) :

But I'm not sure how to cut it out. I'll probably be painting on a dark shirt with white paint. I need help with the bridges PLEASE!!
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / the you-get-to-go-to-London-and-I-don't Care Package. Pic chubby! on: April 29, 2008 03:32:14 PM
One of the girls I work with is going to London for two weeks and since I couldn't go with her I decided to make her a "lucky butt" care package. I added a movie for the long plane ride, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, gum, a passport cover, ear plugs, eye mask, wrinkle reducer, and a British slang notebook.

(All the goodies in the box)

(Everything spread out)

(The kick ass Brit slang notebook I put together)

(A sample out of the notebook)

(The package ready to give)
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Coaster question?? on: January 03, 2008 09:10:49 PM
I really want to make some CD coasters ( I know there is a thread for this but no one has posted there in a while) and I just need to know what kind of adhesive to use to stick the cork onto the CD. Could I use hot glue? Thanks for any help!
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Sirius-ly this is my first stencil!! on: July 30, 2007 05:13:37 PM
Here's the pretty kick A*s Sirius Black shirt I made for the Harry Potter book release party (keep in mind that this was my first attempt):

The original image:

My sister made this Snape shirt for my mom (She doesn't read the books she just really likes Alan Rickman) It's a little rough around the edges but it was her first stencil too:

Thanks for looking!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Button Holes?? on: January 03, 2007 03:21:07 PM
Hi everyone! I'm sorta new to knitting and I'm having a little trouble and hopefully you can help me out. I'm trying to knit a neckwarmer and it's going to close with two buttons, the problem is I just can't get the hang of the yarn over for the button holes. Does anyone know of a website or book that could help me? Thanks in advance!
