Okay they're scheduled to meet Saturday, July 25th from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m
at the library.... *Delevan*
There's a potluck lunch at 1 p.m. so bring a dish to pass and your place setting...

There's an @$$ortment of types of crafters there..
Scrapbooking, knitting, painting, quilting, etc..
*I haven't gone myself, always super busy...I've gone down and chatted a bit,
but somedays it's hard to haul ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OF MY STUFF AROUND...

Anyhow, post here, if you want to show up..
I'll email the girl that runs it...
It's really a nice group, and an @$$ortment of ages I thought...

Thank you very much for replying. Smiley  I remember going to the Delevan library a lot when I lived near California Hill RD.

My only main concern is transportation, but I think I will be able to manage it by the time the 25th rolls around.

So yes, if you can email the coordinator that would be great. Cheesy

Do you go to the other craft store acrossed from the quilting store?
She's got a bunch of different stuff there...  scraping mostly, but a little bit
of everything..

Hmm.  I was going to, until the owner told me I'd be better off at Creekside Fabrics across the street, when I mentioned knitting.  I know Sandy (the owner) very well from the monthly yarn nights, but as I've said, it's packed and I am one of the only people there in their 20's. Embarrassed

I've been popping up in the Buffalo threads since I'm about 40 miles away, but I'd love to find people nearby.

I'm talking the way-south southtowns, right at the tri-county region: Arcade, Chaffee, Yorshire, Freedom, Machias, Delevan, Java Center, Bliss, Eagle, Warsaw, ect...right where Erie, Cattaraugus and Wyoming meet.  I live right in the town of Arcade; a very small walk brings me to the Arcade/Attica RR start.

There's a small craft store in town for quilting and sewing, but they also supply stuff for yarn crafts too.  I used to go to their monthly yarn meetup, but it's been getting pretty crowded, and I honestly do not relate to most of those who attend.  Just major age and background differences.  (I have nothing against age or anything else, but I am never able to talk while knitting and relate to what they speak about, and it's a bit awkward.)

I would like to meet other crafters in the area, especially knitters and crocheters.  I have a ton of donated yarn and would love to meet up with others to stitch up squares for the Warm Up America project (in case anybody is not working on any UFOs at the moment).  And if you like some of the yarn in my stash, you are welcome to take or trade...except for a few special skeins, heh.

I also know of a few second-hand stores who sell away a ton of yarn and needles for great prices (which is where most of my needles and some yarn came from) and would love to share such finds.

In short: anyone nearby who might be interested?

Also... here's a pic of my stash in question: http://i26.tinypic.com/5lytef.jpg
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Hey bandwagon! Is there room for me and my Calorimetry? (pic chubba) on: October 23, 2007 07:55:04 PM
Hello!  I am working on my own Cal right now.  Really quick question because it seems your Cal's got a good stretch to it: what bind-off technique did you use?

The snow!  She won't stop!

I'm up for a crafty get-together.  I just need to figure a way to get to Buffalo in the meantime, heh.  Can't wait until I move to Tonawanda next year.

I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this, but I am willing to take the risk.

For those who are into bittorrent, you can search for the booklet on google.

As for what sites to look for, I will not say.  It's up to you.

I am not encouraging pirating material, but I am stating that the booklet is currently being shared on the various P2P systems out there on the internet.  If you decide to look for it...well, thats your business, not mine.

EDIT:  Seems ax174 beat me to the punch before I posted.  In either case, consider my post a affirmation of what ax174 said.

I'm a computer nerd, and I say go for the ASCII...personal preference of course!

Although, It sparks an idea to knit/crochet the bounty of ASCII art thats littered across the net.

I live in Warsaw, which is a bit smack dab in the middle between Buffalo and Rochester.

Not new to crafts and definitely not art, but I plan on learning how to knit.  I've seen a few acquaintances knit, and they say it calms them down and relieves stress.   Smiley
