1  My first ever piece of wet felted felt...tartan my way! in Felting: Completed Projects by Paperdaisies on: September 04, 2007 07:22:45 AM
Well, I was at a study weekend at my local church and as part of our activities we had lots of cool activities to do which included basket weaving, mud brick making, pottery, woodworking, spinning...and FELTING! I had been drooling over all the amazing wet felted stuff ont his board and I knew I had to have a go! So I decided to cram as much colour into it as possible and then I was inspired to go for a tartan design. I LOVE IT! I need to try this again...I'll have to buy some supplies first. I'm thinking of making a little coin purse out of this piece but I may not be able to bring myself to put a needle and thread to it...!
Here it is!

And here's the back...

And here it is held up to the sun so you can see how I didn't really think about the thickness...next time I'll make the back colour a lot thicker...

I think I'm gonna take it with me to bed...I can snuggle up to it's  softness...

Oh and I guess I should tell you about what it's got in it...wool roving, silk and wool yarn. And I made it on bubble-wrap.

I really love this piece of felt! What do you all think? Cheesy

I absolutely love this idea! I really love the rubiks cube one especially...

Thank you so much...in fact you inspired me to make my own version! Here's a quick pic...

I didn't put much thought into the placement and size of the letters...as you can see here...

Thanks again for inspiring me! I had to wing my own technique because I am unfamilair with freezer paper...it's not readily available in Australia...but I made do with what I had. I also handsewed it...just because I was far too lazy to get my sewing machine out...trust me, next time, I am definitely NOT handsewing it!

Cheesy What do you think?

I finally made another felt...vegetable... creature. Once I made my sister in law a little happy carrot which she has since stuck to a magnet and placed it proudly on her fridge and requested many more happy little vegetables. This is the second vege I've made her, I gave it to her tonight and she was pleasantly surprised! Cheesy

What do you all think?

ps. I am incredibly jealous of that felt stash, verybigjen!

Hehe...it's fun being secretive...I will only post the most boring of photos to share! I will throw you off course!!! But this did happen...here is little Mr Zither hiding away from the cold in my pocket...he had a pretty good view of everything though.

*sigh* I wish I could be carried in someone's pocket! (yeah, I'm lazy)

6  I made a stationery set...with my original character Little Big Head :D in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Paperdaisies on: June 19, 2007 12:23:48 AM
Yeah, that's pretty much it...I am very proud of this and I am thinking of making more and maybe one day in the future I will try and sell some...but for now w have some pics!

The paper...10 sheets of lovely watermarked paper, each with a different Little Big Head design and colored with pencils...

And the envelopes...just some plain white ones with Little Big Head on the front and a small picture on the back. They match up with the paper. There are 10 of these as well...

So there you have it...and I apologise for the crummy photos, I had to up the contrast on them cos they were very dark...but the colours are pretty true to life...

What do you think?

Cheesy I like them Cheesy

Even more gorgeous photography!

....and Aliastriona, I always seem to be in a right hand mood...I know exactly what you mean!

I thought I might share a few more photos...in pure NOT photoshopped goodness. I just wanted to capture some amazing colours.
This one is called Bird Butt. How creative! I love red flowers on a blue sky!

And this one is taken at my parents' place...at one of our big dams. I grew up in the coolest place ever.

And lastly...this is a pic that my brother took, but I love it so much. I am in love with trees with red flowers...this one is a flame tree. Aren't they the coolest flowers you ever saw?

So what do you think?

This is a really fun thread to just browse through...all you craftsters are so talented!!

Here is a photo I took at my cousin's 21st...but the lighting was terrible...so I took it on a Photoshop adventure! I experimented a little on my own and then I followed an online tute to achieve a Lomo effect...here's the tute

and here's the photo...

9  How do you interpret THIS?? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Paperdaisies on: June 11, 2007 11:46:35 PM
I came across the cutest hat in the world...in the cutest yarn ever...

http://www.puppyarn.co.jp/03patterns/3.html#09
And if you click on 'print' on that page, you can download some sort of a chart...does anyone know how to read it??

I love this hat...and it's winter here so it'd be a perfect opportunity to make something cute and warm!

10  Bjork and crazy freeform crochet...wow. in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Paperdaisies on: June 10, 2007 04:04:40 AM
My older brother just called my attention to some pictures of Bjork he saw on the apple.com site (he likes apples and he likes Bjork...he's a pretty cool brother!)...
http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/pollard/
These are the pics from the apple site...

OH my goodness. Bjork is so damn cool. Just lookit all the pictures...they speak for themselves!!

So I went on a google adventure armed with the words 'Bjork' and 'crochet'. Wow...I'll let you see...one of these is apparently her latest album cover or a promo image(I'm not entirely sure this is true...but you can see some more crochet anyway)

So apparently google tells me that Bjork did not crochet these herself but a group called the "Icelandic Love Corporation" made all these costumes. Aren't they awesome?? Here is their website http://ilc.is/ILC/index.html I am still looking through the site...they have some more crochet stuff and other crazy costume, performance and installation art works. I think they live in freeform crochet costumes. Smiley I was just so excited by the awesome freeform crochet I just had to share!

What do you all think? Go forth and make crazy crochet...let your creative juices flow and release your inhibitions!

...Bjork is so cool. The world would be boring without her and artists like the Icelandic Love Corporation.  Cheesy
