When my daughter was a baby, my mom made her a 'quillow', which is a quilt which can be folded up into a pillow (or a pillow which can be unfolded into a quilt ). Recently I found a tutorial, so I whipped this up in a day!!! - thanks to all the machine quilting practice I got on my 9-patch that I posted a while ago.
Here is the pillow all folded neatly
The central panel is scotty dog fabric, with two borders, one plain green, one striped. Here is a detail of some quilting on the pillow, meandering around the little pooches
and here is a closer-up of the borders
This is kind of looking into the pillow
Now it is being unfolded
completely unfolded and held out
The pillow part has two sides. One side has green border fabric, and shows when it is folded up into a pillow. the other side has purple border fabric and shows when it is unfolded into a quilt
The quilt front is black fabric with white dog footprints, the quilt back is black, grey and white sort of checked. the binding is purple with white scotty sillouettes.
I think it turned out cute - I hope you like it.
