1  White Chocolate Pound Cake (with recipe!) in Dessert by SeroriDragon on: July 13, 2008 10:29:58 PM
As an avid reader of Friendly Hostility, I stumbled across this recipe for white chocolate pound cake. I have a HUGE weakness for sugar, so I pretty much HAD to make it! Grin This is actually the second attempt at it (I didn't have a fluted pan the first time around, but everything still tasted good). I substituted white chocolate chips instead of baking chocolate, but that didn't seem to make much difference. One thing I noticed about the recipe was the fact that even though the cake was fully cooked (I think- I used the "stick a toothpick in it and see if it comes out clean" trick), the area around the white chocolate chips was much gooier. I'm really, really hoping that's normal, but everyone who tried it said it was good.

Action shot:

Aaand a clear one:

2  Crochet Dump (Link Heavy) in Crochet: Completed Projects by SeroriDragon on: April 08, 2008 09:23:47 PM
So, I haven't posted here in forever, despite some lurking, but this board is too good of inspiration and I'm in a crafting rut. (Not to mention that my sister/craft buddy moved and my other craft buddy also seems to have crafter's block.) And I have a bunch of completely random projects to show off!

I'll start with the least recent, I guess. I made these last year, and wrote the pattern myself. The first is mine, and the second was gifted to a friend.

Well, I guess this was actually chronologically first! I made Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 for a good friend for Christmas. He's very tiny, and I wish I'd written down the pattern. Oh God, you can just smell the dorkiness coming off me. The second pic is my favorite- baby got BACK! Smiley

Dorky crocheted earrings! I actually have another rainbow pair of these I don't have a picture of. I totally wrote the pattern myself after looking for a way to use up old bangle bracelets from when I was a kid, and I've gotten a ton of complements and requests for these since then!

Aaaaaand an action shot.

A scrapghan!lapghan! My first afghan ever. I ended up loving the colors more than I thought I would. Now to finish the other two afghans I have lying around. Cheesy

I fell in love with the Pretty Puffs Slouchy Hat. I just had to make it. I have a serious hat-making addiction. I'll whip one out every hour on the hour when I'm feeling crafty.

A shawl, based vaguely on Crochet Me's Irish Oranges pattern. I had trouble following it, but the fishnet stitch looks virtually the same, so I just whipped this up using that. I'm pretty much in love with it.

3  Various F.O.s in Crochet: Completed Projects by SeroriDragon on: September 22, 2006 08:03:09 PM
Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. I just started crocheting fairly recently (due to a combination of my grandma's teaching and a copy of the Happy Hooker), and I thought I'd post a few F.O.s. These are my non-Happy Hooker projects that...uh...I didn't make for other people. Heh. Cheesy

The first one includes two beanies, part of my head, random fluffy wool I forgot was in the shot, and a java jacket I made from the pattern on crochet me. I'm wearing it like a wristwarmer for no apparent reason. Heh. Wink

This is a bag I started when I got my wisdom teeth out to try and crochet the pain away. You can tell what parts were made when I was in pain and which parts weren't when you look at the stiches overly close because they're overly tight for some reason. I didn't think it was going to turn out any good, but I ended up loving it! Sadly, the strap is ripping and I need to fix it. Cry

Oddly enough, my sister apparently saw a bag that looked just like it in a store while she was in Europe on almost the same day I started it. She's making me make her one now, since she really liked it too. Shocked
