I know this is super old, but I will do my best to put together a tutorial this weekend!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: London Fog Messenger Bag on: March 03, 2008 04:12:30 PM
Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Pogo-- the camera pouch took me an hour, because I couldn't decide where to put the 'buttons'. The messenger took me the better part of two hours-- it's a very simple construction, though! I was just planning to sew the tag onto the back, but then it hit me that I could use it as a pouch-- and a condom just snuggles in perfectly. In case you're wondering. So does a house key, and a dollars worth of change. So it has lots of uses!

ninjanator-- I feel really earth friendly, actually! I saved this coat from the 1/2 off clearance rack at the Salvation Army, so I'm glad it finally got used!

I had thrifted a huge London Fog trench coat that was in sorry shape, expecting to recon it into a swing coat of sorts. However, it turned out I would have needed to fix the shoulders and the like.

So, I made it into a messenger bag. It's 13x10x3.5 inches with a 33 inch strap.

It's rather simple. This is my favorite part-- i took the tag and made it into a little pouch on the back for quarters or condoms or keys.

I saw a girl on the subway with a pouch that looked like a camera and was suitably inspired. It's about 9x5 inches. The outside is felt and it's lined in polka dotted cotton.

My Mum has requested a pair of these for Christmas, so I'm in!

Just need to find some appropriately coloured yarn!

Wow! That's gorgeous! I love the color- the cables look a bit difficult for me, though! (perhaps I'll join in a cheap acrylic...?)

Is that from the fall issue?

Those are brilliant!

I have a pair of oxfords that would look most excellent with a liberal coating of gold glitter.

How does the glitter hold up?
