Hey everyone. I love jeans (who doesn't?) However, I do not love that they are not made for my size and height (a towering 5 feet). Most jeans today are bootcut, which is cool, but I love huge bellbottom/flares. Anyway, because of my height I have to hem most of my jeans, which results in them losing the big, if any, flare.
So, my idea was to make huge flares on normal jeans. I can find fairly cheap jeans at thrift stores, but most of them are tapered (bleh!). To make big bells, I could always insert a triangle of fabric up the side seams. But, I wanted to cut the jeans at the knees in a triangle shape (kind of westernish) and add whole new bottoms out of some other material.
Basically, I was wondering how to attach the fabric in the triangular fashion at the knees, and how to make huge bellbottoms. Sorry about the awful picture, I am at a computer where I do not have better photoediting software, but hopefully it helps to convey the idea. Thanks for looking and helping out!
