Just wanted to show off some cool new things that Lily is doing with felt. A friend recently introduced her to the fab-o world of needle felting - Here's a great heart shaped pin:

3  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Distressed...! Gold Discs & Cicciona Beads on: August 30, 2008 07:20:49 AM
I just LOVE my new bead series! I'm excited because I've had a bit of a creative drought as of late and am pleased to finally feel myself coming out of it!

I call this the Distressed Gold series because that is basically what I'm doing; Working the gold leaf in the flame to the point where it starts to break down. It leaves behind a very interesting look! (at least that's what I think - Take a look and see what you think!) Here are 3 of the large flat disks which are about 25mm x 25mm x 10mm:

And a couple of my Cicciona beads. (Cicciona in Italian means Chubby and that's exactly what these barrel beads are!) They are also a pretty good size at about 24mm x 18:

Plus I made some companion type beads, as well:

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Site review request on: July 27, 2008 11:41:57 PM
Hello! I've put together a jewelry-related e-commerce site for a nice couple here in town and was hoping for comments, suggestions etc. At times I get so close to a project that I miss the obvious. Any comments are very much appreciated: http://www.italianglassconnection.com/

6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Distressed Silver Beads on: July 06, 2008 08:32:01 AM
These bracelets feature a new line of beads that I've been working on recently: Distressed Silver beads. I've become somewhat fascinated by the washed silver look and the different reactions depending on usage. The way Lily grouped these beads makes for a pair of very dramatic bracelets:

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Hemp Cord Necklaces Featuring Handmade Glass Beads on: May 17, 2008 02:30:40 AM
I teach glass beadmaking in Florence, Italy and one of my students is a young lady named Michela (from southern Italy) who makes the coolest stuff! I really like her recent series of hemp cord necklaces that feature her own handmade glass beads and wanted to show them off. She has perfected a style of wrapping the hemp cord in such a way so as to give the necklace a very unique look and feel. Soft to the touch, the hemp cord wrap becomes even more comfortable with use. The ends are knotted and sheared, creating a loop clasp that holds both securely and comfortably. Take a look:

And here are a few that feature my own beads:

She has a MySpace page that shows off more of her work (although the text is in Italian): http://www.myspace.com/MichelaFusaro Thanks for looking!

9  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Hollow Core Bead - Gold Encrusted & Jeweled on: March 12, 2008 07:48:00 AM
By request of a client, I attempted to create my own version of a now unavailable hollow Venetian bead: Both sides of this gold-encrusted hollow core flat oval have a single, jeweled dot at the center. This particular hollow oval is made using a beautiful deep red transparent glass. The jeweled dots are emerald glass:

And using a transparent glass known as Black Diamond gray. (Gold & jewels & diamonds, oh my...!) The jeweled dots are intense black glass:

And a georgeus deep aqua transparent glass. The jeweled dots are intense red glass:

I also made hollow cubes in the same 3 colors:
