1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cool weather cycling cap on: April 19, 2011 08:26:14 AM
yeah, i did kind of laugh about that last night, only because i know that's the first thing my dad will say once he sees it.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cool weather cycling cap on: April 18, 2011 10:58:26 PM
i recently started cycling again (after....10 years of thinking car>bike) and i just so happened to run across this post yesterday: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=376562.0

i thought to myself, oooh, i want one! So i came home after work tonight and whipped one up in under an hour out of some old material i had lying around. The tan houndstooth is some sort of stretchy wool type fabric and the purple feels like a cotton.

The next one i make i want to use just cotton to keep my head nice and cool. This is where I got the pattern http://www.flickr.com/photos/pandaface/278411178/(i eyeballed it from the photo since my printer isn't working). it was super easy and fast.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Urban Whatever (A Hat) on: August 28, 2009 03:59:35 PM
oh man, i have this amazing slouchy hat that I found on the street in NYC. i took it home and washed it and now i wear it all the time. I've been looking for a similar pattern to knit and I would totally love to knit this so I can have more slouchy hats in a variety of colors!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Wendy Mo, the Punk Rock Poppet (Now with more pictures and an interview!) on: July 19, 2008 07:13:53 AM
she is totally awesome! The hawk adds some major character. i missed the whole poppet-along due to work. How did you get her hair to stand up like that? I'm a puppet-builder as well, and i've been wondering what type of medium i can use to do some spiking/hawking of my own.

thanks,
MK
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Rockabilly Swap Round 4 [CLOSED send by: May 20-08] on: June 11, 2008 07:25:37 AM
Hey guys, i'm so impressed with all the cool stuff people made and i apologize for being absent for awhile, I just got a full time job on top of my part time job and on the side i work on props for theaters in Chicago. I was working on a show right at the end of the swap and boy did they run me ragged. but now it's over and i can get back to crafting yay!

it's okay, these things are bound to happen. she's still cool and just think, all your other shrinkies made it intact. i'd say that's a pretty big feat right there, lol. thanks again.

Hey, i got my stuff today. so here goes...

The whole shebang

All spread out
as you can see, i received a resin painted trinket box with stars on the top, a cool crochet skull paperweight which will go down with my craft patterns i think, a star coinpurse, two crochet bracelets, a crochet lipstick case with plastic shrinkies on it, a sweet cherry skull shrinky bracelet, a skull shrinky necklace, all packaged up in an awesome guitar bag with more shrinkies! *plays air guitar "widdly wahhh!"*

box closeup                                                                                    badass skull

closeup of some of the shrinkies (the demonlady shrinky is supposed to be on the backpack, however, she busted off in transit i believe. which is sad, but she is still awesome, so i'll figure out something cool to do with her.

thank you soooo much missmoppet!!!!

so, just checking in. i've got a slew of ideas and i've begun to implement them between working two jobs and doing freelance props for theaters out here. i will definitely be done by the send out date, hopefully before hand, but we'll see. but i've got my stuff planned out so no worries. hope all is going well for the rest of the crew!
