41  I'm surrounded by pregnant people in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tazzell on: October 02, 2007 04:27:53 PM
so did the only thing I could do and that's stencil some onsies.

These two were for a colleague at work who's wife is due any day now.  I gave them to him at work because once his wife has the baby he'll be off work and I won't see him to give them to him.  He seemed to like them as he was showing them to everyone in work all day. Smiley

And this lot were for a friend who has just given birth to the most adorable wee boy.

Wish I'd thought of doing this when my two were this size.

42  Re: Sakura to Sakuranbo GALLERY! (cherries and cherry blossoms) in The Swap Gallery by tazzell on: October 02, 2007 03:37:19 PM
Beautiful, beautiful things all over this gallery.
And.... my package arrived today!

Came home from picking wee one up from school to discover the postman had left me the 'I've got something to big to go in your letterbox' forms.  Big one who was almost excited as me ran round and picked up the package from our post office and we got opening.
psmommy thank you sooooo much.  I love everything.

Well here we go with the pictures, luckily it was a sunny day today so I got some great outdoor shots excuse the grubby patio table. Smiley
First this wonderful bag with a bunch of cherries stitched on the outside.

And this is to the show the fabric inside the bag.  Gorgeous.

Then...
this beautiful necklace which once it had been photographed has not been off my neck since.  It is so pretty and the perfect length too.

Here we have the cutest headband ever.

And psmommy totally spoiled me with cherry sweeties and cherry kool aid!

And here we have the group shot with the cutest wee card with a basset hound on it Cheesy  Oh and in this shot I've reversed the bag so that you can see that fabric and I love I can use this bag either way and it looks fabulous both ways.

Again thank psmommy, and thanks too go to madpimp for setting the swap up.

43  Stencil mad in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tazzell on: July 04, 2007 03:51:56 PM

I made these shirts for a dear friend who put us up when we were over in Dublin visiting.  She's mad for her cameras, her other half is a drummer hence the Animal shirt (am especially proud of this as I had to make up the stencil myself as I could find nothing online) The guitar guy is for her eldest son who is currently learning to play and the pirate shirt is for her youngest wee rascal.

I can't wait to get to America later this month so I can fill a suitcase with freezer paper.  Do you think I'll have any problems with customs  Cheesy

I'm loving the yellow of that bag, now that colour has to cheer up anyone's day.  The wallet, journal and earrings are all great too Smiley

I received my parcel today.  You won't believe how excited I was when I saw the postie was about to ring my doorbell with a parcel under her arm  Wink
KathleenAlice has made me some wonderful things and I've been grinning from ear to ear all day.
So pictures...
The cutest wee stuffie who I can use as a friend or a pincushion but I think he's far too cute to stick sharp things into.

A knitting needle topper, to stop my knitting falling off.  How cute is he? Cheesy

The most amazing hat and scarf.  The hat rocks and the eyes of the owl on the scarf are googly.  The wool is so soft and cosy I almost wish it was cold enough to warrant me wearing these right now, but come winter I will be living in them Wink

Cute than cute little owl earrings.  Sorry this picture doesn't really do them justice.  As I told KathleenAlice I can already visualise myself fighting off big one from wearing these all the time. Cheesy

the prettiest wee top, look at all those owls!  I'm off to Florida/Disney on holiday next month so I see this top appearing in a lot of our holiday pics already Wink

Everything together, everything had lovely wee tags on them with notes.

Thanks again KathleenAlice I love everything and I've so enjoyed this swap.  Now I'm itching to get my feedback so I can sign myself for more fun.

45  Re: Owl Swap Round 4 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by tazzell on: June 05, 2007 11:34:27 AM
Well I sent my stuff to AmaZing yesterday and she received it today Shocked  Good old Royal Mail I love it when it works Wink
Anyway AmaZing has asked me post pics as her camera is lost.  So here goes.
This is how I packaged it all up
The shirt - credit to devilninny who originated the stencil and Tanza who kindly forwarded it to me once I knew AmaZing liked it Wink

My attempt at a coin purse that turned out maybe a little too big for coins unless you're a pirate or always carry huge amounts of coins around with you. Grin

The wee bag of buttons that I popped inside the purse with some Scottish tablet and a Macaroon.

A wee felt owl stuffie with oodles of sequins.

Back view

Some stencilled notecards (My favourite is the big hairy mischeivious looking one)

A wee extra of a cross stitch owl that my 12 year old daughter did as she can't wait to join in.

Everything together

Sorry it that's too many pics (I got carried away)  I loved taking part in my first signed up swap.

46  Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by tazzell on: May 15, 2007 04:47:15 PM
Just have to say how amazing everyone's tattoo's here are.  Gorgeous.
I've just had my latest ink done this afternoon.  It's a tattoo of my Dad's signature in his own handwriting.  My Dad died in 2004 of a fatal heart attack and I still ache with missing him.  My Dad wasn't a big writer,  and I only have one birthday card that he wrote to me from him and my Mum. (Mum was always in charge of card writing usually)  I treasure that card and this is the signature from it.    (Excuse the elephant lookalike arm, I assure you it doesn't look like that in real life)
I will now wear it with pride as a lasting part of him and the impression he made on me and my life.

While I'm sharing I'd also like to show you the tattoo's I had done 5 months before my Dad died.  Each butterfly, which I designed myself, symbolises each of my children.  The two that are here with me and the two who died in pregnancy.
Thanks for looking and letting me share.

47  Re: Owl Swap Round 4. Signups April 12-26. Send-outs May 26! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by tazzell on: April 21, 2007 04:57:02 PM
Look at who I found in a charity (thrift) shop today while out on a day trip with my small people.
He is my muse for this swap and I've decided he looks like an Eric.  He and I can't wait to discover who our swap partner is so we can start plotting Cheesy

48  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - March 2007 in The Swap Gallery by tazzell on: March 28, 2007 04:03:57 PM
CraftADDchick sent me this private swap a good while ago now but things have been so crazy here that I've just not had time to show her how Rosebud has settled in so here goes...

Hooray she's in Scotland

The natives seem friendly

Spring has sprung in Scotland - thankfully.

Rosebud is a great help choosing what colours I should use next

Here's Rosebud making sure my stencil cutting is up to standard Wink

Thanks again C for doing this swap with me, Rosebud is well loved by all of us and the postman should be making his way to your door just as soon as the plane leaves Scotland and lands in the US of A Wink

49  Poley the Polar Bear *now with pattern* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tazzell on: March 28, 2007 03:33:34 PM
Knitted this guy up before Christmas for wee one but have only just managed to sew it and stuff it.  This is my first knitted toy attempt.
Wee one is in love and he's gone to bed with her tonight, now I have to make an equally cuddly bear for big one.
I need to maybe sort out the proportion of his legs to his belly but overall I'm pretty pleased with it.

Hope you all like our Poley Cheesy

Using 4mm needles cast on 40 sts and knit 20 rows.
Cast off 10sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
Knit 18 rows, then cast on 10sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
Knit 20 rows.
Cast off 10sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
Knits 2 rows, then knit 2tog at each end of alternate rows until 2sts remain.
Cast off.

To make up.
Sew up each leg and stuff.
Set two sides of head together and stuff until triangular shape is rounder.
Fill bear with stuffing and stitch belly closed.
Embroider eyes, nose, mouth etc and voila one wee bear Wink

50  Progress of sorts in Knitting: Completed Projects by tazzell on: December 29, 2006 02:22:21 PM
I've only really picked the needles up again recently after a very very long time of pretending that I didn't want to knit  Roll Eyes  Long story but I once knitted a jumper for my dear Dad and there was something wrong with the wool and it didn't survive the wash despite my mother's best efforts.
Anyway no rambling.  Last year I decided that there are just too many lovely wools out there now for me to not want to knit so I started with the usual scarves and made some for some friends children.  This year nearly everyone got one Smiley

My skills are rusty and I can't see me knitting a jumper anytime soon but I finally progressed from scarves and knit my first ever pair of fingerless gloves.  All credit to Eithne Farry's book 'Yeah! I made it myself'

Thanks for looking.  I know my stuff is nowhere near as good as the wonderful stuff I see on this board but I just wanted to be able to finally share something that I've done. Smiley
