11  Passing on the stencilling bug in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tazzell on: April 21, 2008 02:39:14 PM
to my smalls.
This is the shirt my 7 year old did - yes ok I did help her a lot with the cutting out but she did all the painting.

And my 13 year old decided after I'd done all the designing and cutting that she would like to do the painting.

It's good to know they're picking up on one of my good habits though Grin

12  Covering my assets in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tazzell on: April 21, 2008 02:29:04 PM
I've had this idea bouncing around for a while and while I had all the stuff out making a shirt for my friends birthday I thought it was time for me to do a shirt for myself.

I apologise if it's the wrong way round, I have edited it so many times trying to get it straight that I now give up.

And this is the shirt I did for my friends birthday.

Thanks for looking Grin

My partner the lovely AlternaWidget sent me a fab gnome cookie cutter AND a recipe for Buckeyes along with all the other wonderful things she sent me.  So I thought this would be the best place to share our efforts actually using them Grin

I received my parcel yesterday Cheesy I had good intentions of posting last night with my pics but unfortunately I fell asleep putting the kids to bed so that didn't happen.  But here I am.  Arcarpous sent me a wonderful package and the wee glittery things falling out the envelope made us giggle in surprise.
My packages were beautifully wrapped.

The first thing I opend was the pretty wee envelope and who should I find inside but this wee guy.   Isn't he sweet?

The next parcel I found Gribbet, Arcarpous assured me he's very friendly and has a lot of love it give and she was so right.  He's already spreading the love with my youngest trying to persuade me that he needs to live in her bedroom with her and not in my craft room with all my other stuffies Grin
He obviously checked out the weather report before he came as he has his own wee scarf to keep him nice and warm. Smiley

Now check this amazing journal out.  Arcarpous obviously checked out that I do love me some Gnomes as the Gribbet and the journal were made with some beautiful Gnomey fabric.
The journal is the prettiest journal I ever have had, the paper is so soft and there are these dividers with cute wee pockets.

Thank you so much Arcarpous I LOVE everything.

I've received my package from AlternaWidget and I LOVE everything.  She has totally spoiled me, when I opened the box my girls stood and oohed and aaahed at everything that came out.  Ok now total photo overload...

The group shot.  2 gnome stuffies, a tote bag, a wee gnome, a fabulous gnome book with 3 cool postcards inside, hair bobbles, wind chime and a gnome cookie cutter who will be producing a batch of gnome goodies this weekend Wink

The most gorgeous tote bag with the most handsome gnome ever on the front.  AlternaWidget said she thinks her hubby was glad to see him go - lucky me I now have him to keep me company on all those lonely days when my hubby is working offshore Grin

A pretty wee chime, check out those gorgeous beads.

Hair bobbles...so pretty and a cute wee guy who you can see has already been out in the garden checking out who else lives here.

And here are Jack and Jolly introducing themselves to Norris the Gnome poor guy he's constantly amazed at how many weeds there are in our garden.

Again thank you alternaWidget you are a very talented lady and I am so lucky having you as a partner.
Off now to cuddle with my new friends.

Oops forgot to add a thank you for the buckeye recipe, they sound delicious and we will definately be giving them a try.  Just need to figure out if what you call confectionary sugar is what we call icing sugar or something else Grin

16  My first ever baby hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by tazzell on: March 26, 2008 07:29:18 PM
I was watching the tv while making the small peoples meal yesterday and I saw an appeal by Save The Children for baby hats.  Apparently 2 million babies die a year from pneumonia and the simple act of putting a hat on a newborns head can help...so of course I decided then and there that it was time I learnt to make a baby hat.
This is my first and I'm hoping to make quite a few more.

And while I'm sharing this is a wee bag that I made for a birthday present.  My youngest has been invited to a party this weekend and funds are low so I'm hoping that a pretty bag filled with candy will be ok.

Thanks for looking Smiley

Ok you better all have your wist buttons ready because my package from CayceeMae is absobloodylutely amazing and I am a very very very lucky girl.

Who could not fall in love with this little lady.

She currently keeps disappearing between my two kids and myself although I have her guarding my bed as we speak.  The detail on her is perfect...the dress...the shoes...the hair...Everything!

Next is this perfect pencil box

and who's that hiding inside?

Yep that's right..The one, the only Beetlejuice and Lydia

Again the detail and workmanship is amazing and I'm in love with Beetlejuice's hair I can't stop stroking it. Grin

Thank you again and again Caycee, I hope my parcel to you hurries up.

18  Yet more baby vests in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tazzell on: March 17, 2008 04:02:11 PM
I have a number of friends who are pregnant at the moment, I guess a lot of people stayed in over the winter eh?  Wink
Anyway one of the is definately having a wee girl and another friend will have a surprise in the delivery room as her baby won't share  Grin
As they're both due in a matter of weeks I thought I'd better get a move on and get some vests done.  So here they are.

On the same day I did some adult sized shirts but I can't share them just yet as they are for swaps and I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise  Roll Eyes

That is one cool octopus Grin and I'm loving the tote.

I received from Dorareever today  Cheesy I hope my package is with her pdq
On opening the box there was a wonderful smell which is down to these two wee sweeties, mother and daughter
who are filled with lavendar and cinnamon to make my wardrobe smell nice.

As I have two dogs Dorareever thought I needed something feline in my life so here is my very own Octopussy pot holder.

And finally the most amazing bag, I know everyone is going to be so envious of me and my cool bag  Cool

Thank you so much for everything Dorareever and I hope you like your things as much as I love mine.

I angelled for justapieceofme and sent the package back in January, to date I've still not heard as to whether the package has been received or not Sad so I thought I'd share what I sent anyway.

I stencilled a t shirt with The Clash and added some rivets around the collar, I stencilled Sid onto a piece of cloth and then stitched that onto a black bag, I rivetted a skull and crossbones onto a wee journal and I made a shrinky keyring with a picture of Siousxie.
