1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Your Copyrights Are Threatened: Don't Let Congress Orphan Your Work on: May 29, 2008 05:14:09 PM
I received an e-mail from Sandie at [crochetcabana] about the Orphan Works Bill. I recommend we all be aware of what is going on with this.

Follow the link and at the bottom of the page it has Bill Name/Description which will take you to a page that explains what these bills actually mean.

I have myself sent opposition letters to both congressman and senator earlier today.

There is also a sample letter and where to send them for non-U.S. residents. At the top of the page on the above link, click where it says special link in blue. I tried to post the link but I couldn't get it to work.

Here are more links about it for your reading pleasure:

To be fair, here are links that are not in opposition to the bill :

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Multicolor Purse for Daughter on: November 17, 2007 12:08:51 PM
I made this purse for my DD1. I used Red Heart Super Saver Pinata. I based the purse on this pattern:

My DH sewed the lining for me totally by hand! I didn't even know he could sew! ( We've been married for almost 7 years.) He said he thought it was better that I didn't know......
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Simply Shawl on: November 01, 2007 09:57:50 AM
This is the second one of these I have made. I left off the last round (picots) and I think it looks just as good. I used 3 skeins of Caron Simply Soft in lt country blue and an H hook. If I had done the last round with the picots I would have started in on a 4th skein.

The pattern can be found here:

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Six Point Round Ripple on: October 31, 2007 02:40:17 PM
I made this as a baby gift for a baby boy. I used Caron Simply Soft in Soft Yellow, White, Soft Blue, and Dk Country Blue. I used a G hook. I had to add a few rounds to make it big enough.

The pattern can be found here:

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bottom-Up Granny Shawl on: October 31, 2007 09:59:59 AM
I made this shawl for my grown DD. It's made out of a multicolor and an Aran Red Heart Super Saver.

I got the pattern here:
