43  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 24 swap? on: October 05, 2006 03:54:42 PM
is anyone interested in the show 24? With Keifer Southerland playing Jack Bauer?

It's a fantastic show, one where each season is 1 full day in Jack's life.

Would anyone want to have a swap based on it?
44  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hibiscus Messenger Type Bag on: September 10, 2006 07:50:30 PM
Just figured I'd show off my newest bag.  It's made of Hawaiian print hibiscus, and it's a decent sized bag measuring about 14 inches long, 12 inches tall, and 4.5-5 inches wide.  I used sturdy interfacing in it, and it closes with velcro.  There's a side pocket on the outside and on the inside there's another longer pocket. 45  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Quilted Christmas Stockings on: September 05, 2006 08:22:04 PM
wasn't sure if these go here or in the quilting section.. but I made a matching set for hubby and me since this is our first Christmas together as a married couple.

Then I went hog wild and made a bunch more (like 6!) that I have no idea what I'm going to do with. hehe..

I still have to put our names on them, and I'll probably use red/green puffy paint.

46  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Holds Everything But the Kitchen Sink tote on: September 05, 2006 08:15:34 PM
well.. hubby decided that he needed a new bag to cart around his: laptop, charger, work binder, work portfolio and a ton of other crap he just can't deal without for 8 hours, so he begged and pleaded for me to make him a new tote.. and of course I had to oblige.

So.. here's his ginormous bag.

You can't really tell from the pictures but it's 26 inches long, 18 inches high, 8 inches wide.  It has 2 pockets on the outside, one on the little side piece and one on the back, and one big pocket on the inside, and it closes with Velcro

I just had the urge to make a new purse/tote last night, and I found the perfect fabric for both the outside and the inside in my stash!! I finally didn't have to go out and buy more fabric!!

Okies.. here it is:

and the inside it's a denim color blue, with sparklies throuhout the fabric.

It measures 15 inches long, by 12 inches high, and 3 inches wide. Smiley  I just adore this purse, the handles are the perfect length too.
48  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Ack! That time of the Month Tampon Holder on: September 02, 2006 09:52:23 PM
It's an accessory for any female who hates just throwing a tampon in her purse/tote:

I came up with the idea to make one tonight since I'll be going back to work on Tuesday (I'm a teacher) and realized, man, I really can't be shoving loose tampons in with pens and pencils.. that's so not cool.

This one only holds 2, but I made a few others that hold up to 6 at a time, and the others have velcro, snaps or buttons. Smiley

Well, I didn't follow any pattern to make these, just some trial and error.

My neice was telling me she wanted a little tote that was perfect for her, she's 5, so I sat down and made a few.
I made at least 2 of each of them, and they're all reversable.

50  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Quick Question - Art as a Transfer on: August 30, 2006 12:12:18 PM
I've never tried this before, and I really want to take one of my art prints and put it onto an iron on transfer.

I have a few questions:

What's a good resolution I should use and what file format? PNG, JPEG?

And the second question is how well will the print show up on a white shirt?  It's got a ton of colors in it, and I'm concerned about losing detail with the transfer.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
