161  Ack! That time of the Month Tampon Holder in Completed Projects by Selise on: September 02, 2006 09:52:23 PM
It's an accessory for any female who hates just throwing a tampon in her purse/tote:

I came up with the idea to make one tonight since I'll be going back to work on Tuesday (I'm a teacher) and realized, man, I really can't be shoving loose tampons in with pens and pencils.. that's so not cool.

This one only holds 2, but I made a few others that hold up to 6 at a time, and the others have velcro, snaps or buttons. Smiley

162  Critique on my art? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by Selise on: August 30, 2006 07:24:51 AM
Well, I'm pretty darn new to Craftster and to Etsy, and I've had a lot of page hits, but no buyers.  I was wondering if it was my style of art.

I'm an Aquarius so I go all over the board with my crafts, from quilts to dreamcatchers, but I have a ton of art that I'd love to share.

My main question is, for the prints and notecards, are my prices too high?

http://hestiashideaway.etsy.com

I priced the set of 10 notecards (5.5" x 4.25")  printed on heavy duty cardstock, with matching envelopes at $10, with a free print, and the large prints 8x10's are $5 on glossy paper... is that too much?  I never sold my art before so I'm curious.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Here's an example, but there are more examples in my etsy

I'm originally a digital artist, so I wanted to show off some of my new work.. this is my latest

I'm also thinking about offering my art as prints, any suggestions? I already offer these on card and envelope sets, but never really ventured into prints.. so all suggestinos would be helpful

164  Two Loves: Westies and Quilts in Quilting: Completed Projects by Selise on: August 26, 2006 07:05:24 PM
I combined my two loves for this project, westies and quilting Cheesy

I found a woman who screenprints her art of dogs onto fabric and purchased this fabric from her, the pawprint fabric and the bones I'd had from a long time ago.

Excuse the wrinkes, I pulled it off the bed:

165  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Selise on: August 25, 2006 09:36:53 PM
well I just joined so I'll show ya'll.  I got married 22 Feb 06 on the beach on Grand Cayman Island.

My best friends mother had her friend make the dress and then she gave it to me to wear, and she (my best friends mohter) took it in to fit me.  I'd lost a bit of weight so it was big, but ya..:

and there's more: http://www.hypersonicscream.com/Holiday

Me, his brother, and his mum:

My family refuses to speak to me since we married, but I had to follow my heart. And they also refused to come to the wedding.

166  Re: Shared pattern/pattern links in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Selise on: August 25, 2006 11:32:49 AM
Here's a bunch more of them.

Feel free to use them however you see fit, if you'd like to use them for profit that's fine with me.

Made from FreeWare Fonts:

and if you save them, the STG you'll notice is a link to my graphic website: http://www.sigtagsgalore.com

If you use any of them, I'd love to see what you do!

167  new stuffy bear in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Selise on: August 24, 2006 01:54:55 PM
I really like this one..  It's only my 3rd bear ever.. ok.. so he has no eyes but that gives it character right?

All feedback would be good especially since I'm so new to making these

And to give a little size reference:

169  A bunch more quilts in Quilting: Completed Projects by Selise on: August 22, 2006 05:54:35 PM
Figured I'd show these off too.  I've been quilting about 8 years now, so they've improved drastically!

My sister loves dragons.. so I just had to make one for her:

This was just a random one that I made for a craft fair and as of now it's not been sold, so it's decorating the back of my dining room chair.

I made this Celtic Knot pattern myself, and then gave this to my Aunt as a Christmas gift in 05:
If anyone wants the pattern, just ask, I'll send ya it as a PDF.

This was a gift for my friends 25th birthday:

This is one of my current WIP's.. I need to figure out a border colour:

And the closeups of the two main blocks:

And this is my favorite quilt so far, I made this for my husband as a wedding gift in February (yea, I'm a newlywed)  Fits our King Size Bed:

170  Hawaiian Sunrise Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by Selise on: August 22, 2006 02:01:28 PM
I just finished this quilt, it's not my largest one, but I think it's going to be one of my favourites.  I'd raided my stash of fabrics and came up with this:

This is it on a twin bed:

And this is showing off the back more on the couch in the den:

I'll probably make similar ones in other colours, I have a bunch of tropical fabrics and patterns left!
