I have a beautiful english bulldog, Princess, and she gets pretty hot in the summer. She has a lot of extra skin so she has a lot of extra warmth too. Any idea how to keep her cool? i've seen dog toys that you fill with water so when they chew on it it cools them but they are too expensive for me she does wear a collar all the time so maybe something that ways? i need ideas or she might melt!! (jk) she doesn't mind wearing clothes either: here is a pic of her so you can see her extra neck fur and how cute she is! i mean, how big she is... thanks in advance, SmithyBoy
Here is Jack's rag quilt. it is my second quilt ever! (definitely not my last!) I made this yesterday in about 6 ish hours. The squares are quilted with an X in the middle and each of the triangles has a different quilted design on it that represents a different aspect of my cat! (that was fun!).....I like to think she likes it! She slept on it last night with no complaints! here it is before washing: and the center block before and after washing to show the difference: my favorite pinwheel to show the quilting of it: (that's a paw, cat face, mouse, and fish bones) and last but not least, her action shot! (she's a bit shy ) this shows the size (about 30"x30") i had so much fun making this for her and quilting all the different triangles! comments and criticisms welcomed!
So here is my very first quilt. I made it last year over Christmas break....yes, I know it's very wonky, but I truly had no idea what I was doing! all the blocks are my design, i made them up as i went along. it was made for a book report (which was supposed to be a poster, but being the craftster that I am I took it a little further ) they are all characters from George Orwell's Animal Farm. enjoy:
from the top left: Snowball, Napoleon, Old Major, Muriel, Benjamin, Boxer, Clover and Mollie Close up of pig's head: Close-up of Goat's head: (my favorite block!) Close-up of horse's head so you can see how the ears are attatched, kind of 3D ish they flap around and an obligatory action shot! (soo warm) comments and criticisms welcomed!
Here is a punk rock tutu and a wee shirtdress i made for my baby! she's a two year old english bulldog, Princess, who is the light of my life! let's start with the wee shirtdress! i bought a 10/12 girl's shirt, elasticized the waist (she is sooo trim ) and added some gathered lace before embroidering...enjoy! best action shot i could get: side detail: skirt detail: embroidery closeup: it's my new kurt halsey pattern from sublime stitching's artist series! <3
and now for the punk rock tutu! i just measured her waist, cut some elastic that length, and cut 2 strips of pink netty fabric and 2 strips of black tulle. they are 6, 7, 8, and 9 inches long....to give a layered effect. i actually think she likes it!! she looks beyond adorable! laid out: embarrassing back view : side view action shot:
i hope you like them as much as i liked making them! comments and criticisms welcome!!! <3, SmithyBoy and Princess
Here are a couple of mini dolls i've made recently.....there's egor the zombie, my first attempt; albie einstein, a request from my sister; jessie, a present for my mom made by my sister; and shoshanna, a mermaid i just made today....(i just realized she's topless.... whoops!) oh well, i love her anyways! all together: his name is on his little vest! His sweater and pants are made from socks! she was made for mother's day (looks just like my sister ) her hair is fun fur! and i used my new doll face stamps! (sooo cool )
Here is a shoe-box recon i made a while ago, it was an ordinary shoebox, that i covered in some silky pink and very soft fuzzy pink for the inside, and some pink polka-dotted cotton, all remnants from wal-mart! enjoy! the outside: Inside: Top: Front: Rosette Detail:
it was made with double sticky tape and a glue gun, between 11:00 and 1:00 at night! it used to hold all of my crafting supplies, but my stash has since ballooned so big that it now (barely) holds my embroidery~ comments and criticisms welcomed!

I have this new-ish, clean, 26" bike tube (it goes inside the tire) but on my first week using it, i ran over a thumbtack!! so it does have a hole........ but it's sooooo cool! what the heck can i do with THIS??
The paint on my shirt was halfway peeled off by the stencil (freezer paper) when i peeled it off. I did do two coats, will that make the top layer peel off? here are some pics: It has peeled off a lower section of the "D":
Any ideas how to prevent or fix that?
AND, how do i keep the paint from seeping under the freezer paper? i was just using a sea sponge type thing and dabbing, not smearing! please help! it's for my BFF's christmas prezzie!
