2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I wish I knew someone with a PICC line.. on: August 02, 2007 06:45:43 PM
As a nurse here are my recommendations:
1.  It has to be able to stretch, anything to tight would cut off circulation and could also kink the tubing (a no-no)
2.  It has to be easily washed!  A PICC line is a really long IV, usually 45cm and its tip (the end of the catheter) is in the Superior Vena Cava, a really big vein the leads into your heart.  PICC lines have a high risk of infection as it is so anything that goes over it must be clean and easily cleaned. Otherwise you are only asking for infection and bye-bye PICC.
3.  Make it fun!!  If you need a PICC its for a very good medical reason so make it fun.

That sweater is awesome!! The furball that owns me would rip me up if I tried to put that on her.  Ironic since she has to play with all of my knitting, yarn, etc.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Joe's Office Socks (patt. included) on: June 24, 2007 05:17:08 AM
So gorgeous!  I've just got the obsession for socks and acquired a lot of sock yarn at the Maryland Sheep & wool festival, this will have to be the pattern for my next sock!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What's your favorite yarn? on: June 04, 2007 06:29:14 AM
This has to be the toughest question....
Top favs.... Koigu, Manos, Noro.  I also grabbed some great stuff at the Maryland Sheep & Wool festival.
For budget Lion Brand has some wool that actually is pretty good.

I knitted this for my friend who is expecting her second baby this May.  Its from Debbie Bliss, The Baby Knits Book.  I used Cashmerino Aran in a pale yellow. This yarn is SO SOFT!! Great for a baby!  I still need to block and add buttons.  Anyways, thanks for looking!!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: knitting at work? on: March 15, 2007 05:38:19 PM
After reading this I think I need to find a job where I can knit at work.  Alas, as a nurse its impossible to get a real break nevermind knitting at work.  At least I get to work with some other forms of needles!
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Fitted Knits-along ? on: March 07, 2007 07:27:12 PM
I am very excited to see a knit along for this book!!  I love everything in it.  I am currently working on the puffed sleeved cardigan but I think I should've made it for a size smaller.  Any suggestions besides frogging and starting over?? Thanks!
