1  Charlie Brown Christmas Tree in Winter Holidays by the jenya on: November 25, 2011 02:25:51 PM
Since I work in the Schulz Graphic Novel Library (Charles Schulz drew Peanuts and Charlie Brown and all that fun), I decided to make a REAL Charlie Brown tree this year. My boyfriend's dad chainsawed the butt off the tree he got today in Vermont and I KNEW we could use it for something.

We used a drill press to make some holes for boughs we had trimmed off, you could just carve a hole with a knife. Insert a little branch + one red ornament (hopefully pathetically scratched). We packed snow around the tree butt base to keep the branch alive longer.

And a little sunset:

2. 32 page comic book!
Actually, I penciled a three page story, inked 6 pages, colored 4 and designed the cover. But DAMN, my group pulled a 32 page full-color comic in 13 days. Shown here are the other three groups at school. Luckily, I was in horror! I'll link the comic soon.

3  Reclaiming crystallized honey? in Recipes and Cooking Tips by the jenya on: January 17, 2009 09:24:28 AM
Has your honey ever done this? I recently bought a large container of pure honey (Vermont, baby) and after a small vacation I came home to this sludge. I can still mix it and such but being the honey lover I am---I enjoy just a spoonful every now and then. What can I do to bring it back?! Thank you!

Alrighty, I only made it to 37 last year before September but my trade is comics and I know I made enough of those. Would people mind if I posted links to the future comics I make? That way I don't get pic heavy? I also have many plans for crafts of a knitting and sewing nature but damn if I don't work my butt off on these comics!

1. Zombie Costume and Choreography
On Sunday, I was in the National Karaoke League's Texas Showdown and needed to make a quick costume for our group song where we were zombies! Yea for recycling this sad sack of a dress into something fun!

I also dressed Tom the plummer and Lucy the skater:

Future plans include:

1-Knit socks, wearable ones
2-Make car seats for my poor Honda in these -10 degree weather
3-Make some hand-bound journals
4-Create some more drop spine books
5-Knit something (armwarmers) FOR ME, I always give things away
6-Knit my boyfriend a scarf (the guy with no pants on, above)
7-Make a Halloween costume
8-Make costumes for each comic book movie I see
9-Make T-shirts for my website
10-Illustrate children's book
11-Make a pen case for my roomie
12-Paint my mom's studio

37 Rock Glove 'n' Cuff I have meant to make something for my ripped karaoke team shirt ALL SEASON. So for the semi-finals where I sang the shit out of 'Free Your Mind' and 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' I used some scrap fabric and big ol' buttons to make some sweet accessories. The seams aren't great but I'm still learning how to use my sewing machine. Cuff side:

Thanks for looking!

8  Two-Face/Harvey Dent Costume for Dark Knight!!! in Halloween Costumes by the jenya on: July 21, 2008 07:59:19 AM
Last week, I made a costume for the premiere of Dark Knight (at the IMAX, of course). When my father died, I kept a lot of his rather hideous suits much to my brother's dismay. I resized the jacket and sleeve in order to make it look somewhat fitting. The other half of the suit is a really crappy zoot suit costume I bought off the internet years ago and wore once. The only thing I had to buy was elastic!

Well, I FINALLY used one of my father's suits!! Here is a before:

And here is a crappy Halloween costume I used for the other half:

Classy broads take photos in bathrooms. The shirt was also my father's:

Badass friend as Joker:

Close-up:

His outfit was totally vintage, plus we dyed his vest a darker green:

One more:

Profile shots are fun!:

And the other!:

Harvey's two breakfast choices: cup of fruit and quadruple bypass.

Thanks for looking!! If you haven't seen Dark Knight yet, I highly suggest it!
