so, a weeks ago i was in a serious car crash, (cars back tire blew out, car spun out of control, my side hit a barrier and the car flipped, we had to be cut out) myself and the driver were fine, literally a few bruises from the seatbelt, some muscle pain and i had a small cut on my shin. when viewing the wreckage of the car (it was totaled) i took a piece of gravel that had come in through my window (which shattered) onto the dashboard.

i didn't really put any special thought into which one i took, i just went for the closest one, as a memento.
i wanted to turn this into a necklace as a reminder of how lucky i was to be unscathed/alive. However, i don't want to drill a hole in it for fear of it breaking and i only have the one piece of gravel.

my two thoughts on what to do were either
-wire wrapping (its triangular in shape)
or
-gluing some thing to the back which thread/metal could be slipped through.

i am kind of leaning towards wire wrapping because it would look better, though i like the image of the gravel on its own, my concerns are that, the gluing idea might make it look cheap/crappy or that wire wrapping would make it look really girly.

so if anyone has any advice on a good way to create a necklace from it, or input on which idea would work better it would be much appreciated.

i had a bunch of evil eye keyrings that i got in Athens and i wanted to try frying marlbes, but i had no marbles, and the charms were made of glass so i used them to make them more prettyful ^.^ only one broke. i was trying to carry them all at once so i put them in my pocket, i emptied out my pocket to find one had broken and now there are glass shards on my bed >.<

anyway, pictures! (sorry that they arnt really clear, i had to use the camera on my phone as the other camera is broken)

and i dont know why the eyes look scratched, they arn't actually.

im re-decorating my room and i have deicided that i want to have tie dye bedding. only problem is i dont know how i sould go about tie dyeing somthing as large as a duvet cover.
anyone have any helpful hints or tips? i will probably do a couple of practice runs with t-shirts just to get the hang of it.
also, with the drying process would i be able to put them into a dryer?

and here is a rose that i have been meaning to paint onto wood. im going to paint it blue, with blood comeing out of it. i'm not entirely sure if im going to do the blue rose, or do a daffodil (maybe blue) with blood pouring from the cup part

not really crafty...but i did cut the wood

okay, basically what happened is - we got a guinea pig from pet store, got food, straw, bottom of cage covering stuff.
noticed it had a runny mucasy nose and brought it to the vet (was bringing it in anyway for a look over to make sure it was ok) vet gave injection, confirmed it was femal (pet shop didnt know) we named her cinemon (sp??)
guinea pig didnt like to move that much, noticed she was dragging her hind legs. brought it to the vet to get her second injection. said this to vet. found out that one of her back legs was fractured and the other was paralysed, and the fracture was there to long to be fixed. we all deicided it would be best for cinemon to be put to sleep.

rang pet shop, told them what happened, they apologised. explained that she came from a large group and that was most likly why they didnt notice. the vet told us the petshop was a good place. the petshop offered to get us two female guinea pigs in compensation.
so though its sad cinemon is gone she is no longer in pain.


now onto the cage. its too small for two (we were planning on getting cinemon a freind and moving them to a larger, home-built cage)
so we are building the cage, only problem we cannot get the cube things (as recomended by CavyCages)
so we are using a kind of clear plastic stiff stuff that comes in sheets (cant remember what its called)

so my problems are
-how to join the edges together (the sides and the sides to the bottom)
-how to get a second level thing (we have the bottom level which is 8 square feet or bigger, definatly no smaller than 8 square feet)
-how to create a tunnel.


the plastic stuff would shatter if cut or drilled (or so my dad tells me)

so my sister and i (because my dad was absolutly no help in the slightest) came up with the idea of a soldering gun. it would melt the plastic and "cut" through it. our dad agreed.
so if you need to cut plastic that will shatter if cut or drilled try a soldering gun.

hi, i was wondering would it work to substitute the metal screen bit for some net curtain? i know it isnt as hard as the plastic/firberglass (actually i dont know how hard it is, im assuming) but i cant find it here (ireland) so do you think it could work?
