1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / rock necklace advice/input. on: September 07, 2010 06:12:34 PM
so, a weeks ago i was in a serious car crash, (cars back tire blew out, car spun out of control, my side hit a barrier and the car flipped, we had to be cut out) myself and the driver were fine, literally a few bruises from the seatbelt, some muscle pain and i had a small cut on my shin. when viewing the wreckage of the car (it was totaled) i took a piece of gravel that had come in through my window (which shattered) onto the dashboard.

i didn't really put any special thought into which one i took, i just went for the closest one, as a memento.
i wanted to turn this into a necklace as a reminder of how lucky i was to be unscathed/alive. However, i don't want to drill a hole in it for fear of it breaking and i only have the one piece of gravel.

my two thoughts on what to do were either
-wire wrapping (its triangular in shape)
or
-gluing some thing to the back which thread/metal could be slipped through.

i am kind of leaning towards wire wrapping because it would look better, though i like the image of the gravel on its own, my concerns are that, the gluing idea might make it look cheap/crappy or that wire wrapping would make it look really girly.

so if anyone has any advice on a good way to create a necklace from it, or input on which idea would work better it would be much appreciated.

it's the best picture i could get at night/with the camera i have. sorry its blurry. the 2 euro coin was for scale, but i ended up holding it to get a better picture.

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Want to leave eBay and just have own site - would love imput! on: August 21, 2007 03:41:28 PM
if you put some more up for auction on ebay you could include an advertisement for your shop in the description.
say that your selling them at cheaper prices.
it might boost sales or atleast boost visits.

That's completely against ebay rules.

oops, sorry i didnt know. i've seen it before so assumed that it was okay.
