22  Tat-o-rama pleated purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stellaheartocean on: February 13, 2009 01:27:45 PM
I *LOVE* Alexander Henry's tattoo print. I made a wicked shirt that I love to death. But what to with the leftovers? Surely I can't just throw out this cotton GOLD. So I made a cute purse! It's been around for about 3 weeks now and has stood up to the abuse I dole out quite well. If I make this bag again I will probably put some interfacing in the top band, just to make it sit better. But I'm nonetheless very pleased with my bag:)

23  Just a purple bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by stellaheartocean on: February 13, 2009 01:20:44 PM
One strand of Lion Wool in purple and one strand of some very old Paton's wool in a tweedy purpley-blue held together. Because I needed a purple bag.

Totally sweet purple leopard lining

I made a little pin-charm thingy to jazz it up a bit.

24  "My Girl" Tattoo Tunic in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by stellaheartocean on: February 13, 2009 01:14:05 PM
I found this cute spandex print in a remnant bin at Len's Mill Store in Guelph (that's in Ontario. Which is in Canada. Which is on earth. Which is in Canada.) The heart banners say "My Girl" and there's a somewhat floral/viney pattern throughout. Simplicity patterns were on sale at Fabricland, so I browsed the books and found this cute tunic pattern. I think it turned out really well! The seams were even finished on a Serger. Yay!

Pocket detail

The pattern is Simplicity 2998, view B. Thanks for looking!

My buddy Jeremy is turning 20 soon. As I'm sure you guessed, he is a fan of both Firefly and tea. He loved it.

Hello friends! This is my first time posting in this forum, but I've been sewing for a while. Here are some of my recent projects:

Simplicity pattern, New Look 6621, view C. More sale fabric.

This rad vest is a Butterick pattern, See&Sew B5171. Yeah, I never pay full price for fabric.

27  Oodles of Hats in Knitting: Completed Projects by stellaheartocean on: October 08, 2008 06:07:07 PM
I haven't posted anything in a while, so here's a bunch of hats I've made!
Le Slouch, made with some lovely Malabrigo. Don't mind the pose, I was having a bad face day.

MagKnits Fake Isle in Paton's Merino Wool. I made this for my mum last Christmas. The only thing I changed was making the ribbing longer, so as to fold it for extra warmness.

Sexy earflap hat in Nashua Handknits' Equinox Stripe. Based on a K1 pattern.

And a cute toque for my snowboarder buddy, Emma. Mission Falls 1824 wool. My first time using this yarn and I love it!

28  My sort-of crocheted laptop case in Crochet: Completed Projects by stellaheartocean on: September 02, 2007 09:49:58 PM
So, I have a lovely new computer for university. To keep Gary from getting all scratched up, I made this:

I bought a sweater at Value Village and felted it for the main body. The heart and skull appliqus were crocheted and sewn on after reshaping the sweater, the stars were some I had lying around from Fabricland. It's lined with some super bitchin' skull print fabric and tons of quilt batting.

29  Crop top in Knitting: Completed Projects by stellaheartocean on: July 28, 2007 03:45:33 PM
I finished this a while ago, just got around to taking some pictures...it's the cropped top from VK Spring/Summer 07. I used Berroco Bonsai, which gives a very different look and feel from the original design. I had to redo the neck several times...I found that when I cast off, I couldn't quite get it over my head. So I wound up ignoring the V-neck shaping entirely and it fits fine.

A lousy closeup of the eyelet rib pattern (even after all this time, my camera and I are still not very good friends)

Overall, I'm very happy with it. Now to continue with my Coachella...
