1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sewing/Cutting Table on: April 02, 2007 04:14:56 PM
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen a sewing table that doubles as a cutting table.  I'm thinking it would have to be adjustable to allow for the height difference.  I've been looking around and I can't find anything.  Have you ever seen this type of thing?  I wonder if I'll just have to get two tables....  Please let me know what you think Smiley
2  U.K. AND IRELAND / IRELAND / What's In Dublin? on: May 21, 2006 12:36:58 PM
Hi!

I will be travelling to Dublin next week and I was wondering if anybody knew of some cool crafty places to check out.

Thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mini Sweaters on: December 17, 2005 04:14:12 PM
Hey!  I used the pattern from http://mindofwinter.prettyposies.com/archives/000126.html to make these two mini sweaters for my Mom for xmas.  I don't have a tree of my own, so they are currently hanging from my partner's Star Wars X-wing toy.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Air Freshener on: October 14, 2005 12:21:07 PM
You know those new Tetley tea canisters?  They're round, with a lid and you can't recycle them... So I'm using them to hold air freshener!

I covered the outside with some really pretty paper that I received as wrapping paper and filled it with baking soda scented with essential oil (I used Fri Needle).

This is really easy, cheap and works well as an air freshener!  And I'm all about finding something to do with nasty non-recycleable packaging.

I tried to take a photo, but they kept turning out blurry... I have a craptastic camera.  Oh well, I think you get the idea.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Wicked Jean Bag with Flowers! on: September 05, 2005 11:05:43 AM
I made this bag over the weekend as a gift for a coworker.  I made it sqaure bottomed with the help of Jordy's tutorial.  I used BeppyCat's pattern to crochet the flowers, although I stopped at Rnd 3.  It is lined with a colour similar to the green flower and it closes with velcro.  The brown flower has a stem that goes all the way down too, you just can't see it in the picture.

Let me know what you think!

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Sangria Recipe? on: July 26, 2005 04:31:24 PM
Hey everyone!  Does anybody have a good (and easy) recipe for Sangria?  I want to make it for the long weekend because the LCBO is all out of the pre-mixed stuff and I figure it would taste better if I made it myself anyway.

Thanks!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mushroom Skirt on: March 18, 2005 12:45:51 PM
I made this A-line skirt a while ago with some frabric I got at VV.  I embroidered (crewel) the little mushroom in the corner with a pattern that I bought from ebay.  It's super comfy and was really easy to make!  What do you think?

The skirt:

8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / "Cozy" from Knitty on: March 11, 2005 12:46:28 PM
Hey!

Anybody want to knit Cozy from knitty.com with me?  I just started it and the lace pattern is just gorgeous.  It's a little more interesting than stockinette stitch (which is what I have been doing A LOT of).

I'm doing mine in an ivory coloured acrylic yarn that I got for FREE from my fiance's grandmother.  I haven't had much luck with substitutions, but I think this will work out ok because it doens't have to fit Smiley

I hope some of you are in... I'll post a pic of my progress soon!
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vintagey Wicked Awesome Bag on: February 01, 2005 06:17:33 PM
So I made this bag on the weekend with this awesome fabric that I got at VV.  It's some kind of upholstery.  I fell in love with it!!

The wooden dealies on the handle are supposed to be for curtains, but I think they look better on my bag.  The pictures really don't do it justice, it's the best bag that I've made so far!  There is a pocket on the inside which is lined with brown fabric.

I used the same pattern that I made for my Mom's bag
