11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / I Don't Want to Give Them Away!! on: February 10, 2007 11:33:11 PM
I made a set of earrings with a matching necklace for my sister-in-law's birthday later this month. Only problem is, I don't want to give them away! I love them too much. Cheesy

12  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Australians on Etsy? Advice please. on: February 08, 2007 02:22:37 AM
Hi all. I am considering setting up an Etsy store to cater to my beading addiction. At this point, I would be perfectly happy to cover the costs of my supplies, though a little extra pocket money would come in handy too.

My questions relate to the fact that I am in Australia. I wonder could any other Australian Etsiers let me know what their experience is. Do they sell mostly overseas? Is the extra cost of shipping a problem to them? That sort of thing.

Like everything I do, I am overthinking this, I know. Any advice on this gratefully received.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Completion of a Long Forgotten Project on: January 31, 2007 09:44:12 PM
So, I started knitting a sweater for my nephew while my SIL was still pregnant. Said child is now 3 years old, long since grown too big for the sweater, and, well, I never finished it because, frankly, there were too many ends to sew in. Then, inspired by the Colour Craftalong, I dug it out and finally sewed it up.

I present the Rainbow Sweater.

14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Babies and Kids Craftalong? on: January 31, 2007 02:42:42 PM
Would anyone be interested in a craftalong of the things we make for the babies or children in our lives?
15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / What are wists? on: January 29, 2007 01:29:37 AM
I keep seeing references to these, and I can't quite wrap my head around the idea. I've googled them, and I've visited some through the links hereabouts.

Could some kind soul explain what a wist is, and how they are used...?
16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beginner's Luck? on: January 15, 2007 04:17:41 AM
I tried my hand at beading with these 2 pieces (I already posted the rainbow one in the Colour Craftalong)

They're a bit wonky, but I'm pretty happy with them all the same.

I just had to have this, and I finally got it finished and framed.

Some detail:

18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Bird of Paradise Cross-Stitch on: August 20, 2006 06:06:10 PM
OK, so I finished it a while ago, and I used a kit, but I still think it's pretty striking!
