Regarding the chalk on pavements thing, has anyone heard about Arthur Stace? He lived in Sydney in the middle of of 20th century and used to write "Eternity" in chalk on the pavement at least 50 times a day for 30 years!

I love this idea!

*thinks of what she could make to leave for others to find...*

OK, I am all inspired to make pillowcase dresses now! Except it's freezing cold here right now, and by the time it's warm enough for my little girl to wear one, she'll probably be too big. Undecided

25  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I think I"m done making my friends baby quilts on: July 19, 2007 12:13:33 AM
So far I have had only positive responses to the baby quilts I have made - the last one I did was for a friend I've known for years who was having her third baby. She loved it, and was even more impressed when she found out I'd made it, saying to her older children "Giffy made this!!"

My sister made quilts for both my younger children, and I haven't used them as yet. Embarrassed The one she made for my daughter is a single bed size, and my daughter is still in the cot, but the one she made for my son, I never used with him as a baby because it is far too beautiful to be pooped and vomitted on! Tongue I do use it as a lap quilt, and have used it on my own bed, though. She does know that I appreciate them, though, I made sure of that.

I have 2 more baby quilts in the planning stages at the moment, and I have no doubt one will be appreciated. Now I'm worried about the other. Sad

*sigh* 6 hours of solid quilting time sounds like bliss to me!

Heck, even 3 hours solid quilting time sounds like heaven!! Cheesy

Great job, Homerof2. Your work is always beautiful, and this is no exception. You've given me inspiration for the baby quilt I am planning for my friend.

Congratulations on your soon-to-be granddaughter! She is certainly a lucky little girl to have such a talented grandma.

Beautiful quilt!

I am torn, actually. I like to think each project is closer to being perfect than the last, and that I learn a little every time. I can forgive myself the odd error (or quirk as I like to call them  Wink ), but only so long as it isn't screamingly obvious!
