I had been dying for a fringe bikini top, and found one at target, but it wasn’t fringe-y enough. I used Kwik Sew 2769 for the top, added two layers of fringe and criss-cross straps to the back. The bottoms are from Target.

Both are made from New Look 6130, one with with organza and a lining and the other with sequin material. both have an invisible back zip

Ok, so I saw this adorable Lilly Pulitzer dress a few weeks back, but obviously as a poor college student could not afford it. Fast forward to a few weeks later. My dad and I are in LA and fabric shopping, and I found a fabric sooo similar. And out came this dress. I got some adorable matching teal sandals and cropped sweater go with it and still came out cheaper than buying her dress haha

stellar job! how did you do the handles? i find it impossible to make tubes and turn them inside out using vinyl.

Oh, I actually didn't turn them. Since I put some rope inside, I just pulled the fabric around it and folded the edges in before stitching so I could avoid turning it because I knew that wouldn't work and I hate turning tubes!!

ok seriously you MADE this? I am in awe! and you must have one rockin sewing machine!

Actually I have a piece of crap Brother that I bought about 6 years ago, I just have much patience!!

Totally winged it! I had made a bag similar to it before (some Amy Butler bag) so I kind of had a general idea of the shape but pretty much just made it up and learned as I went.

I'd been seeing a lot of bags similar to these but they are too expensive and I knew I could make one on my own. It was my first time doing tuck and roll and it was way easier than I thought. Its made out of sparkly vinyl and a mexican blanket from the flea market! I also made vinyl piping for the bag. To make it stand up I used cardboard but next time I will definitely look for something else that is just as sturdy but not as hard to cut! I put that underneath the lining. I love my new bag!

I had some really cute scraps so I turned them into totes!

The charms on the Paris tote are hand embroidered on felt and stuffed. On the strawberry it is actually a mini pouch that you can use to put grocery bags in! How cool!

Can I just say that I love this fabric. I found it at Walmart randomly and knew it would be a simple shift dress. I got some ADORABLE mini flower trim to go with it.

Today was the first day of spring break and its starting to warm up so I figured I’d start my break off with a cute dress.

Its made from a vintage 60’s shift dress pattern, which literally has like three pieces, its super simple and always has great results.
