So glad it brightened your week, goal achieved!  Knew you liked gardens, and the color purple, so that is what directed me. Hope your daughter is all better.  Smiley

Here is a picture I took to show the size:

22  Sea Spool in Completed Projects by HSG on: June 22, 2014 09:22:55 AM
Participated in the altered spool swap, and hazelly was my partner. She likes ocean life, sea turtles, star fish, jelly fish, etc. So that is the theme I went with, and this is the result.
Whole thing:

The spools are covered in sand and glitter. The jellyfish are shrink plastic. The rope for wrapping is hemp, and that is an actual piece of fishing net. The sea turtle was the hardest part figuring out a pattern.
This was a challenge but fun. Once I got my idea formulated it was a matter of placing things in a successful manner. Smiley

Just a reminder for everyone out there shopping: the max size of the spool (without embellishment) for this swap is 6 inches.
Whoa! That was close. Glad I saw this before I started crafting on this one.

27  Washi Tape Coasters in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by HSG on: May 09, 2014 08:28:05 AM
Yes, I've jumped on the Washi tape bandwagon (Thanks Kittykill!).

These are inexpensive coaster that I covered the disk with Washi tape and then sealed with resin. The green ones are my favorite.

This pattern is so retro cool.

These flowers are so pretty.

Thanks for checking it out Smiley :

29  Hostess Gifts in Completed Projects by HSG on: April 11, 2014 01:29:33 PM
Needed two gifts for friends who have invited us for meals during Passover. So for under $15.00 I made these two packages.

Got plain wooden and resin cooking tools and painted them in three colors (red for meat, blue for dairy and green for parve). Then took plain burlap canvases and painted the surname initial with a stripe and embellished it with a flower. Wrapped them in a new dish towel tied with a bow and card and done.

Now all they need are pretty gift bags. Smiley Thank you for checking them out.
