11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Just found this cool idea -- Blossom Ice Cubes on: October 15, 2006 08:45:05 AM
Wish I had thought of/found this for my wedding:

Hope someone can make use of this idea. Maybe could be used if expensive bouqets are out of the question and you'd still like to have some flowers around!
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Snazzy armwarmers on: October 03, 2006 11:16:57 AM
So, I made these over the weekend while watching TV. I think they came out rather well...especially since I had a cat laying over my lap who thought it fun to attack every time the yarn moved. I could only take a picture of one arm because I have not yet received my octopus implants:

Thanks for looking!
13  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Donut fabric? on: September 18, 2006 08:57:13 PM
Anyone know where I can get some donut fabric? My brother is in police academy and I'm making him a...ahem...quilt for Christmas. Luckily I won't be there for him to throw things at when he opens it...   Cheesy  I LOVE being the big sister! Any help locating this fabric is greatly appreciated!
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Corduroy dress finally done...gonna go have a drink now... on: September 18, 2006 11:30:17 AM
This is a dress my friend commissioned me to make. But seeing as she just had a birthday I'm just going to give it to her as a present. No pattern, just my crappy drawing. AND I've never made a dress before! Hope it fits her, otherwise you might see it on eBay.

Comments and suggestions welcome and appreciated!  Smiley

Edited to add pic of the gift recipient! It fit her like a glove and she LOVES it!

Excuse our messy work! (And if you look by her keyboard there's a matching headband!)
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Rooster hat...yes, I said rooster... on: September 08, 2006 02:17:36 PM
So the back-story to this hat is long and twisted. To put it simply I made this hat for a friend.

Here it is in all it's glory with the moose gift tag:

And here's a pic of me sportin' it. Not really my style...

(Don't know why the photo's chopped...oh, well)

Comments appreciated! Smiley
16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Eek...It's a...It's a....What is it? on: September 05, 2006 12:31:36 PM
So, to make a long story short...at work we have wars to see who can put the most random stuff on people's desks...the latest thing I've gotten is antennae made out of straws on my computer monitor. Well, my arch-nemisis will get this:

What is it you ask? I have no flippin clue! Maybe someone wants to giver her/him/it a name?
17  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My first project post and quilt on: September 03, 2006 08:58:06 AM
Ok. First time project post, first time quilting AND first time trying to post a picture so I hope it works. This is a quilt I made for a friend of the family's baby (who is almost a year now...whoops!) The green trim as well as the back was chenille so it's super soft and also a super pain to sew! But it was worth it all to see the daddy's face last night when I gave it too him. He was so touched that I made it myself he almost cried in the middle of his restaurant!

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Grommet tape question on: August 25, 2006 10:41:43 AM
I looked through all the posts on grommet tape but could not find an answer to my question. Has anyone used heat n bond on grommet tape to attach it as an embelishment to a piece of clothing? Would that work? I'm looking for a lazy way out of sewing it on. Thanks.
