1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Skull Bunnies (added awesome new pictures may 21st) on: May 21, 2008 04:18:35 PM
ack!!! i meant to upload close up pictures of some of those holiday bunnies but i have been so so busy i forgot.
but at least i have a good excuse! i am so so proud to say the skull bunnies are gonna be published!!! an artshow in st louis is releasing a book that compiles all the pieces int he show and all the stories that go along with them. not only did they want to use one of my skull bunny pictures for the front page of their site www.crammedorganisms.com they even decided to put a skull bunny on the cover!!!!

but now i am in gear making a big batch of 20 bunnies to send all last minute to the show. i had already sent my 4 big fantasy creature pieces but when i saw the bunny on the cover i had to see if they would want some bunnies in the show too.

but enough of that. here are some cool pictures of some of my fancy holiday skull bunnies i have made for various occasions.

Loooove bunny for valentines day of course

a grinning jackolantern bunny for halloween

and ya gotta have a ghost on halloween too!

and even a gingerbread skull bunny!

oh it's okay i have it happen MANY times.
most people assume that too.
even when people would come to my booth at the craft fair where  had  a giant sign and like a hundred other places say spooky daddy but people would still ask my girlfriend about the plush SHE made. lol

I just wanted to show people how far I have come. Some of you remember I used to post a loton this board. Probably fewer of you remember my Skull Bunnies. But for those of you who do these were the very first ones.

Then they changed alot to these.

then i finally settled on these.

and after making like a hundred. no seriously i have made hundreds of Skull Bunnies.
I have streamlined them to all be uniform. No longer lumpy, no longer sometimes mishapen. I think they look great now! And they just look so so cute when there are a bunch of them.

And along the way i've made a bunch of special ones for requests and special holiday themed bunnies. I'll post those too if people want to see em!
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: tiny little super detailed hippie (too many pics lol) on: May 02, 2008 04:34:47 PM
He's awesome! I love the Ratdog shirt Smiley  Did you ever get the pictures of him traveling?

It was for a hippy...so what do you think?
nope no pictures and he never even payed me all the money he owed me for this guy. cause i was nice enough to let him pay me in installments.
but he still owes me some for it but i haven't heard from big eric or little eric in over a year so i doubt i will ever see pictures.
oh well.
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Cousin Loomis- Come see a blue werewolf puppet! on: April 20, 2008 09:47:27 AM
Oh how I wish I could see your links but most seem to be missing!  Cry. The sketches are awesome and Cousin Loomis is just adorable!

I certainly admire your puppet-making skills (can I have a Greengo??  Wink) they look store-bought! And I suggest you keep a special eye on Loomis - once a puppet gets a taste of human booty, he can never forget  Wink

thanks so much!
hmm all of the links work for me. is anyone else having problems? is that why this has been looked at over 100 times and only has 2 comments? lol

there will never be another Greengo. but there will be more puppets to come. i don't know if i will ever sell any of em cause i have a whole puppet show to staff with puppets first. :-D

Hey guys it has been a while but I wanted to show you all some stupid silly little videos.
I have been making puppets! these videos are all just test shots so don't judge em too harshly.

here is my first one Boscar- named so cause i think he looks like the bizarre love child of Bert and Oscar the Grouch
http://www.flickr.com/photos/spookydaddy/2385050595/

and i am working on this guy named Greengo for my pal tom. and tom is about the coolest dude in the world! and he is so anxious he can't get Greengo off his mind!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/spookydaddy/2402731320/

go look at his flickr for more pictures of Greengo!

but here is my newest puppet.

he is Cousin Loomis. Some of you might remember his Uncle Loomis, who was my first really big plush.
i made these silly little videos to send to the judges for this years Crafty Bastards along with my application and the 3 pictures it asked for. i just knew i had to show video to do Cousin Loomis justice. i plan on doing all kinds of interviews with crafty friends at the fair with him and make a little spooky daddy special out of it!
oh and tom drew this after he saw the video. he makes me smile.

btw here is Loomis at Crafty Bastards '07.

the top row is teresa of sewing stars, jennifer of cotton monsters, and heidi of my paper crane
middle row- cool old black man who struck up a conversation with me, the crafty bastard himself, and uncle loomis about to rampage on a homie building someone made.
bottom row- i love this picture cause uncle loomis is biting that ladies butt haha, a little girl who had to be DRAGGED away from Loomis cause she didn't wanna go, me and Loomis getting interview for a small documentary on plush you can find here http://revver.com/watch/501130/flv/affiliate/133023/plush-toys-crafty-bastards/

okay i'm done now i go eat dinner and then come back to see if anybody has responded!

oh and just you all wait i am gonna have awesome new pictures of crafty bastards this year too! they are doin 2 this year and the first one is comin up in june!
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Anyone consign at Wholly Craft? on: September 21, 2007 05:18:46 PM

10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / best way to sell buttons (badges) ? on: September 05, 2007 08:08:24 AM
i am about to do my first craft fair (craftin outlaws in columbus oh sept 15th anyone else going???)
and i was wondering what do you all think is the best way to sell buttons (badges)?
should i sell them in pre packed packs of 4 for $4 or should i sell them for $1 a piece up on a board or something. would they sell better as packs or individually you think?
cause it seems like packs would encourage people to spend more just to get the one or 2 buttons they want but also selling them at a buck a piece would help to spread word of my stuff  ( i have my web address on each button)
