1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sewing machine - tension problem? Or?? on: January 27, 2007 09:34:57 PM
So, I have this sewing machine with no manual, and little previous experience LOL (though I have made a skirt and lined a hood thus far with it...oh and made a baby carrier and some wrist cuffs...but I digress) Anyway, I am sewing the lining of the bag I am working on, and the stiches *were* fine...but without my changing anything, it now looks like it is putting way too much thread per stich (so when the seam is done ach stich has a big loop instead of a nice tight stitch). Anyone know what I should do about this?? Huh (It's a White "Jeans Machine" btw) Thanks!
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pippi Longstocking - wire for braids? on: October 18, 2006 08:54:47 AM
I have very long, hennaed-red hair, so I thought this Halloween I would do an easy-peasy Pippi. Smiley I was wondering if anyone has some experience though with how I could get my braids to stay up-and-out all night. I was thinking wire, but how to keep gravity from getting to them? Any ideas? I really need them to last a long, full-of-dancing night if possible.

Also, and general costume ideas are much appreciated! Cheesy

ETA: I'm worried about the wire holding the weight of my hair because my hair is very long (down to my butt) and quite thick.
