1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Organize me!! Swap on: February 01, 2007 01:32:04 PM
Ah yes Zelda.Suicide and I have pondered this very swap via email many many times!  Grin  I would love to participate but I need one more swap (the newbie swappers *currently swapping* are planning a round 2 for sophmore swaps so we can get that 2nd one under our belt so we can do any swap)!  I would love to do this swap if it is still available...

In a lot of words I am saying: awesome!  Cheesy

Just an fyi...you only need *1* swap under your belt, then you are cleared to sign up for as many as five. You need *two* swaps done before you can *organize* a swap - but not to participate! :-)
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing machine - tension problem? Or?? on: January 28, 2007 11:23:50 AM
first I would take all the thread (top and bobbin) completely out and rethread.  Then test it out and if this doesn't fix it mess with the tension.  If the loops are on the bottom of what you are sewing then its the top tension, if the loops are on the top then its the bobbin tension.  Hope that helps!

Well, there are loops on the top *and* the bottom. I also can't figure out why it would work fine and then stop...maybe the fabric?? It's this thin lining fabric, could that be it?
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing machine - tension problem? Or?? on: January 27, 2007 09:49:07 PM
Thanks for the advice - and I did find that I can *order* a manual online, but as I need answers sooner than later I turned to my trusty Craftsters Cheesy Well I am going to go try it, but I am a bit scared of messign with it too much LOL as I really don't know enough to fix anything :|
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sewing machine - tension problem? Or?? on: January 27, 2007 09:34:57 PM
So, I have this sewing machine with no manual, and little previous experience LOL (though I have made a skirt and lined a hood thus far with it...oh and made a baby carrier and some wrist cuffs...but I digress) Anyway, I am sewing the lining of the bag I am working on, and the stiches *were* fine...but without my changing anything, it now looks like it is putting way too much thread per stich (so when the seam is done ach stich has a big loop instead of a nice tight stitch). Anyone know what I should do about this?? Huh (It's a White "Jeans Machine" btw) Thanks!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Decorate my house room by room craft-a-long on: January 25, 2007 02:14:00 PM
Ok, count me in - but starting with the march deadline, as I won't be getting into my new place until then. Smiley It should end up very bright and colorful, most of the painting is already done (my mother is renovating her attic so I am moving back there.) Will post later with a list...
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Tree Swap, Round 3! on: January 25, 2007 08:35:54 AM
Woohooo I have pictures from the great swap package that irish_chicky sent me! Cheesy Except for the great pillow she sent me Sad it was still at the office when my ex brought the camera over. It's home now...I will add the pic as soon as I can take one of it. Smiley

Meanwhile, the rest of the package:

A really nice ATC (my 3 year old loved the stars too, I think she was jealous LOL):

A really gorgeous wire tree diorama (actually the trunk is twine I think) This picture does not do it justice at all. I had to take it home for a photo, but I am taking it back to work to decorate my desk with posthaste! It's only about 5 inches tall btw!

And my absolute favorites, a bracelet and choker with beads and I think nut shell pieces, I love them sooooo much!

Action shot!!

Thank you irish_chicky!! My sewing machine is in working order again, so your package is coming along soon!!!
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Wrist Cuff Swap Round 3 on: January 25, 2007 08:22:40 AM
Alrighty, I *finally* have a pic of the lovely cuff cai sent me!!

Action shot: Smiley

I have such small wrists, it's wonderful to have a cuff that fits! Smiley And the colors are great, it goes with most of my work clothes. Cheesy

Halfelvenwriter, I'm glad you like the cuffs! Cheesy Thanks for posting pics - I was only able to scan them as I did not want to delay even one more day, but they look quite flattened that way LOL. I really liked the way your cuffs came out Smiley I am actually doing another one for another swap I am in. Cheesy
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: You know you're a craftster when... on: January 24, 2007 09:43:05 AM
YKYACW...
-you realize you have a favorite stitch. (Mine's blanket stitch.)
-you dream about crafting, and often wake up and go make whatever you dreamt of.
-you post LJ entries like this  Cheesy

you dream of ceramics pieces, and have a book next to your bed just so you can write them down at 3 am before you forget.

Aaaahhhh I totally need to do this, keep a book that is. I was thinking of one design before bed which luckily I remember, but at least one other I KNOW was dope I can't recall at all! Sad
