1  Re: Tree Swap, Round 3! in The Swap Gallery by gingembre on: January 25, 2007 08:35:54 AM
Woohooo I have pictures from the great swap package that irish_chicky sent me! Cheesy Except for the great pillow she sent me Sad it was still at the office when my ex brought the camera over. It's home now...I will add the pic as soon as I can take one of it. Smiley

Meanwhile, the rest of the package:

A really nice ATC (my 3 year old loved the stars too, I think she was jealous LOL):

A really gorgeous wire tree diorama (actually the trunk is twine I think) This picture does not do it justice at all. I had to take it home for a photo, but I am taking it back to work to decorate my desk with posthaste! It's only about 5 inches tall btw!

And my absolute favorites, a bracelet and choker with beads and I think nut shell pieces, I love them sooooo much!

Action shot!!

Thank you irish_chicky!! My sewing machine is in working order again, so your package is coming along soon!!!

2  Re: Wrist Cuff Swap Round 3 in The Swap Gallery by gingembre on: January 25, 2007 08:22:40 AM
Alrighty, I *finally* have a pic of the lovely cuff cai sent me!!

Action shot: Smiley

I have such small wrists, it's wonderful to have a cuff that fits! Smiley And the colors are great, it goes with most of my work clothes. Cheesy

Halfelvenwriter, I'm glad you like the cuffs! Cheesy Thanks for posting pics - I was only able to scan them as I did not want to delay even one more day, but they look quite flattened that way LOL. I really liked the way your cuffs came out Smiley I am actually doing another one for another swap I am in. Cheesy

3  Re: Japanese Lolita gallery in The Swap Gallery by gingembre on: December 08, 2006 12:20:38 PM
I received my package from lolitaneko last Thursday - perfect timing, *just* in time to wear for my birthday (Friday)! I got tons of comments, at work, on my commute and when I went out for the night. Cheesy (The kiwi gummy candies included did not make it that long LOL!) It took me this long to post due to my crappy home internet non-connection Angry

(Wearing my lovely goodies out Friday meant I had to throw together a makeshift petticoat out of insuffient amounts of an inadequate material LOL so if the shape of the skirt looks a tad off, that is why!)

The blouse btw, which you can barely see at all since the camera was giving me major difficulties (I am *so* pale, taking a proper picture is rather difficult sometimes!) is one I've had for years, it has ribbons and lace at the front and is actually an off-white color. The skirt color is a very nice dark red, it also came out a bit strange in the pics lol. Since my camera was acting so weird, I have two color versions - a yellowish pic and a blueish pic. Somewhere inbetween those is the actual color!

Did I mention the pearls on the skirt are individually handsewn??!!?

Back view - note the matching hairbow. Smiley

I love it all!!! This was such a great first swap.

Alrighty, I heard from lolitaneko, and so here are the pics! Smiley

The whole thing as laid on the bed (please ignore the setting, it is not my place anyway LOL, my ex very kindly took pics for me)

The hoodie on the bed

and on me LOL

Detail of the trim (I later added a bow in the same trim to the left side)

And the zipper, which I just barely managed to make work after screwing it up LOL!!

I was very happy to hear from her that the skirt had the right amount of "poof", I was a bit worried, especially because this is the first skirt I have made (Ever!) *and* the first thing ever made by me on a sewing machine! The hoodie has inspired a whole hoodie-themed Christmas giving extravaganza  Cheesy

I will also be sending belatedly some crocheted chokers I've been working on. In the meantime I stuck in a cute desk organizer I found (painted dark red and gold) with some chocolate mousse pocky. Smiley

Show off my hair....well, who can resist THAT call? LOL.

My hair pre henna:

My hair post-henna (this was a few months ago, it is longer now):
