11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / BRIGHT orange cape/poncho on: June 28, 2007 08:41:10 PM
This isn't my project, it's something I rescued from the Salvation Army.  I just can't stand to see someone else's crafting hanging on a rack with dirty striped sweaters with shoulder pads from 1983.  I will never ever wear it, but I plan to use the pattern to make something a little more tasteful and just a touch less bright.  It appears to be 3 or 4 skeins of Red Heart in that bright bright orange.

12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My first project post! "Baby It's Cold Outside" sweater and doll on: June 28, 2007 08:36:57 PM
I used the pattern I found on here months ago, I actually don't have a printer so I had to write it down!  With the doll I pretty much had to use my imagination.  Any tips on how to give her straight black hair would be helpful!  I'm leaning toward pigtails.

I used a J hook with about a skein and a half of Lion Cotton Ease in lime, which is really more of a sage color, and the same yarn in ecru for the edging.  The wooden buttons came from JoAnn Fabrics.  I can't really say how long it took because it was made over a number of nights and lunch breaks, but generally I would classify it as a quick project.  If you're a quick crocheter you could probably start before supper and be done by bedtime.
Thanks for checking out my first real post!
