1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / One Tiny Pushing Daisies Item Swap? on: July 09, 2010 05:51:45 PM

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a tiny swap for Pushing Daisies (which I am rewatching thanks to the glory that is netflix).

I'm finishing up a Tiny Doctor Who Thing swap, so I'd be happy to organize this one - just wondering if there is any interest Smiley

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Twilight La Push Tribute Purse, made from Old Sweatpants! on: December 30, 2008 02:03:06 PM
Well, I got a brand new sewing machine this Christmas from Santa Claus, so I just had to try it out.

Therefore, I grabbed an old pair of sweats, some fabric scraps I had lying around the house, an old belt, and voila!

A tribute purse to the werewolves of La Push!

As much as I love the Cullens, the wolves of La Push hold my heart (and now they hold my books!) What do you guys think?

5  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Need Help figuring out Homade Uggs on: January 14, 2008 05:27:49 PM
Hi Everyone!
I need some help making homade uggs, since I am waaayy too poor to afford real ones.

I'd like to make the tall ones, you know, these ones:
http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=w&categoryID=283&productID=5815&model=Classic+Tall

They're so very popular, and I am completely inspired by this
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=159890.0

I have a bit of a pattern worked up, but I was hoping someone might have some helpful hints for me. I'm a size 7 1/2 wide, and I want to make them fleece-lined like the real uggs.

Has anyone else attempted making these shoes? Are they easy? Or am I insane for attempting such a thing?

Thanks in advance for all the help!
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Save the Texas Prairie Chicken! Monkees T-Shirt on: October 04, 2007 11:18:08 AM

                        Save the Texas Prairie Chicken!

I love the Monkees, and I love designing clothing just as much. I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while of designing a "Save the Texas Praire Chicken" t-shirt, but I knew exactly how I wanted it to look.

First, I had to find the right transfers, and I found them at Walmart (99 cents!! ).

Then came the biggest problem - in my head I envisioned the shirt being a specific shade of blue. And I wouldn't settle for any less, since I "knew" that they made shirts in this color. But after three months of stubborn searching, I found it - the shirt!  And on top of that, it only cost me two bucks.

Proving, yet again, that great clothes actually are affordable!
