201  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Crafts to do While Traveling on: June 03, 2004 01:01:00 PM
i just read fight club and it was AMAZING!   if you liked the movie, you'll definitely love it.  i usually bring those big puzzle books on trips with me, because they have a variety of stuff to keep you busy.  also, if you have a cd player or tape player, there's lots of good books on tape out there.

playboy actually uses merkins because it's "raunchier" to be shaved.  they like the classic look, so if a model doesn't have any hair down there, they hafta wear a merkin.  my boyfriend and i ALWAYS make merkin jokes, and it was great seeing your shirt!!

you can also take food coloring in bubble solution (or dishsoap & water) and have them blow bubbles of different colors onto paper.  the popping makes cool splattery shapes and bubbles are always fun!

make sure you take pictures & show us how much fun they had!!

yeah, or you could use cream cheese...i've used that for the bugs on a log before and it worked great!

you can do these cool things that we made when i worked at a day care for halloween called "witches' mouths".  basically, you slice apples (into 8 pcs) and each kid gets 2.  they spread peanut butter on one side of each, and then stick mini marshmallows on a row on top of one apple.  then you stick the other apple on top and it's like lips with gums and teeth.  and they're yummy and mostly healthy.  i worked with 4-year-olds, and they LOVED it!
206  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: ATCS OF THE 80s- 2 SPOTS LEFT! ONE OR BEFORE JUNE 11TH on: May 24, 2004 10:36:34 AM
ok, cool!  i was reading the link to that site from the first page of this thread, and i was wondering if the size of the cards is normal postcard size or not?  i have a ton of blanks left (i recently had to print a bunch of cards for my senior art show) so i have extras that i could use, but i think you're talking way smaller.  what are the dimensions usually used for these?  is it 2.5" x 3.5"?  sorry i have so many questions, i just want to make sure i get it right so i know how big to go.  thanks!

This sounds really cool, but I'm moving (just got out of college) and I'm afraid it might be tight to send it by June 7th.  Did anyone else decide they'd like it later?  I'm new to craftster, but would love to be a part of this (if it were say - extended  a couple days so I don't feel rushed - I'm moving on Friday and Saturday).  If not, maybe I can join a later one.  My printmaking teacher went to a print swap last year and got some REALLY cool stuff, so I'm sure it would be awesome!!
