11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / How much should I sell these for and other questions on: August 07, 2008 02:29:04 PM
Hi!  This is my first time posting in this part of craftster and I hope I'm doing this right.  xD;

I'm going to be sharing a table with a friend at a 1 day mini anime convention in less than a month selling accessories and some clothing.  She'll be selling some crafts as well, but I believe she'll be mainly doing art and such...

Anyway, I'm going off topic!  I just made these really cute pins/brooches and they came out pretty good - good enough to add to my inventory to sell.  I don't know how to price them, though.  I was thinking $1.50 and maybe 2.50 for bigger ones but they also take about hour to make and they require a lot of hand work... I might even be making more detailed ones with faces of anime charatures on them.  I know you guys are crafters as well so you could give a big eye-sight into pricing handmade stuff better than my non-crafty friends (not saying they aren't any help, though!!).  I don't want to cheapen my worth, if you know what I mean, but I also want to keep the price reasonable for a convention where younger teenagers with not that much cash will be.

As well as this, I was also thinking about using this idea for tagging my items. http://kickass-peanut.deviantart.com/art/Taggie-Tutorial-84261853
I'm going for the cute look, since our studio name is 'Cute Fruit' and I personally specialize in cute/kawaii and loli-able things.  Do you think this is a good idea?  If I have the free time I might use this to whip up a few for business cards as well as for tagging my items.  I wanna get my name out there, you know! xD

Thanks for your time! <3

I'm very tempted to join... but I have to see if my schedule will allow it!  >_<

I love Kamikaze Girls!  That movie is hilarious! xD  I loved the Baby designer, he was awesome.
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: RAINBOW Swap Round 2? on: July 05, 2008 12:02:24 PM
I think I might be able to do this swap.  (although I don't think I should, because I'm already slacking a little on my crafting. >_<)  I love rainbows so I'm gonna have to try and manage this swap.  xD  with 2 mediums 2 smalls there is a big chance I'll have time. ^^

Some brands, I think, have a small built in petticoat for some items, the only thing is usually they don't give that much poof on its own so you have to have a separate one.  This isn't a bad thing though, because by adding your own you can control the amount of poof you want when you wear it.  ^^  The one brand item that I own myself (a JSK from Meta) doesn't have one; I have to use my own.
15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Slash and Femslash Shippers Swap on: May 31, 2008 07:25:20 PM
I'd totally love to do something like this if I can. I write yuri/femslash fanfiction for anime and a small number of video games as well as original stuff. *_*

The only problem is I'm not that brushed up on or know that much about most series so it might be hard for someone like me to craft for someone else.  Oh well, that's what research is for!!  >_>;

Ok, so I got my package from my partner Monday~!  Its pretty awesome. xD

Just as a little background I mentioned that I like cute things and food.  Expecially cute food.  *lol*  So my partner put this awesome little charm for me!

Action shot, but of course.  The berries inside the pie matched my top. Cheesy

She made it so that I can wear it as a necklace and a brooch which was a great idea, seeing as I've been playing with different types of accessories lately.  Thank you very much!!

I've been trying my hardest to get her package done but it seems my medium doesn't want to coorperate with me lately.  ^^;;  This is actually the first time I've gotten nervous about an swap!  >_<  I'll finish everything in time, though like I always do so no need to worry!

Ooh, I'm so impatient to hear if mine arrived yet! I sent it last week. I know it's probably going to arrive today or tomorrow, but the wait is killing me! It was a brand new project and I'd never made anything like it before so I'm so anxious to hear if my partner liked it. Hurry up, USPS! Hurry up!!  Wink

I got it yesterday!!  the great thing is that I got it a few hours before I left for karoke with friends so I got the chance to also wear it out.  Cheesy  Posting pictures soon as I can!

I would like to think so.  XD;

So when is a good time for everyone?  What's a good crafting size for this? who's willing to organize?

As for organizing, I could, but I'm reeeaally not sure if I'm capable.  I think like someone said before 1 medium, two smalls would be good.  And I'm open for next month from the looks of it.
