1  It's time for another round of "Name That Knit!" in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by lisa_zacharias on: November 05, 2009 11:28:35 AM
So, that's my title, but what I'm trying to say is; can anyone tell me the directions to get the knit in this picture?  I am an intermediate-level knitter, and I bought these fingerless gloves from a second hand store years ago.  I apologize for the crappiness of the pics; the second one is on the palm, and it's stretched out a bit, which might help in identifying the pattern.

I REALLY want to recreate these gloves, and I've worked out that it has picot edging, and how to do the thumbhole, but I am not advanced enough to know how to get a texture from looking at it.  If anyone could help me I would be so grateful!! I can post a tutorial if they turn out so everyone can enjoy these adorable gloves!  Thanks a million fellow craftsters!

2  Glow-Hearts Bunnyhug in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lisa_zacharias on: May 12, 2009 06:33:59 AM
I've started an ambitious project; to make a "line" of clothing.  I mostly make whatever comes into my head, but I wanted a cohesive group of clothing, to make me feel like a real designer!  So I'm calling it "Glow"  This is the first; "Hearts" and I am almost finished with "Moon"  Let me know what you think!  The hood is Uber-long; I love huge hoods!
PS  In Canada, particularly Saskatchewan, "Hoodies"  are called "Bunnyhugs"  just for your edification!

Just a qualifier: this bunnyhug is red with a pink hood; the color looks a little off; more of a red-pink.  Just to let you know~!

I was at the library the other day looking for wrapping tips; here are some pages I found useful.

I also like the idea of bleaching tissue paper; wild!

6  My Sister's Pink Bunnyhug! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lisa_zacharias on: November 27, 2006 10:39:37 PM
My sister wanted something pink because she used to be a tomboy, and she never wore pink. Now she's becoming a lady!  So I sent her a drawing; she ok'd it, and I made her a bunnyhug!  (You call them hoodies, but they were invented here in Saskatchewan, Canada, and they are called "Bunnyhugs."

Hope you like! (I made the pattern from scratch)

7  Burton Cummings Skirt!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lisa_zacharias on: November 20, 2006 02:53:31 PM
On June 15th, Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman did a Canadian tour called "First Time Around"  These are two of the greatest Canadian Songwriters of all time;between the two of them there was The Guess Who (the original writers of "American Woman" for all you Lenny Kravitz fans) Bachman-Turner-Overdrive, and they both put out solo albums.  I love love LOVE their music.  I have loved it ever since I was a little girl and my dad gave me a Guess Who cassette tape and I put it in my Barbie Walkman and played it to death.  ANywho, they came to Saskatoon, and I went with my parents to their concert (They are aging hipsters by the way - both Burton, Randy, and My parents!)  I made my mom and dad t-shirts, and created a skirt named.... The Burton Cummings Skirt!!  After the concert, which ROCKED, I waited at the back door of the auditorium for an hour and a half, made friends with the security guards and when Burton Cummings got into his car, and it started driving up to the tour bus, I stood in front of it waving my Sharpie, and he stopped the driver and got out and SIGNED MY SKIRT!!!  WEEE!!  I've never been like this for anyone, but I lose around those old hippies!  (No I don't have a daddy complex; I am just in worship of their music) So, anyway.. on to the pictures! Thanks for any comments! 2nd Post guys!  -Lisa

My mom and dad - can you believe they're both 50??

Me being REALLY excited!

I used an inkjet transfer to put Burton's Face on my skirt! Let me know if you know of The Guess Who, BTO, Burton Cummings or Randy Bachman; their music is AMAZING!

8  Waka-waka-waka-waka-waka-waka PacMan!!! in Halloween Costumes by lisa_zacharias on: November 05, 2006 08:41:30 PM
So my fiance's brother decided he wanted to be pacman, but had no idea how.  I got together with him, drew some sketches, made three trips to Fabricland, (one of which ended with a VERY flat tire)  and this is the final result.  My apologies for not having a closeup of the Maze on his shirt; it is 100% authentic Pacman maze (Level Three, I believe!)
I Stuffed a globe-like shape with a 45 degree open mouth for the head, and made him a pull-on Ghost Hood that he could pull on and off.  In the Black Lights, the Ghost looked amazing!  I went as a witch, but I thought his idea was  waaaay more original! (I wasn't allowed to be a witch when I was younger; leftover rebellion!)  Kudos to Trent for the idea; Kudos to me, Lisa, for the execution!
