21  Random Recent Jewelry in Beads: Completed Projects by TwistedRedhead on: October 30, 2006 01:51:39 PM
Here are some random things I made.  Most of this was made this summer so it is kind of summery.  I was on a coral/shell kick and made a lot of pieces similar to the first one:

I made six sets of these for one of my friend's bridal party.  It is all freshwater pearls hand-tied on silk with Swarovski crystals.  The earrings are sterling silver.

Lastly, one of my co-workers wanted an ankle bracelet in black and red (her two favorite colors) and this is what I cam up with:

Let me know what you think!  I LOVE making jewelry!

22  Re: Protest Craft Ideas? in Crafty Charitable/Social Causes by TwistedRedhead on: September 10, 2006 02:31:05 PM
Thanks for the suggestions.  Unfortunately, the Board of Trustees vote did not go as we hoped.  We will be moving forward with legal action now.

I wanted to let you know that I did use the chalk idea and one of the resulting photos ended up on the AP wire.  Check it out:

23  Google-eye Tufted Warbler in CHALLENGE 12 ENTRIES by TwistedRedhead on: June 04, 2006 07:17:51 PM
My husband found this vase at a local consignment shop.  When he saw it, he automatically thought of Dr. Seuss' sculpture of crazy creatures

Imagine the vase without the feathers, I forgot to take a before picture, this is more of a during picture...

Dr. Seuss and Sesame Street combined with the ugly vase, styrofoam eyes with pom pom pupils, feathers, pipe cleaners and popsicle stick accents becomes the Google-eye Tufted Warbler!

Dr. Seuss made sculptures of his creatures to look like hunting trophies, which is why I went with this look.

24  Waiting for Leah's signal--World Domination by Craftster in CHALLENGE 11 ENTRIES by TwistedRedhead on: May 01, 2006 06:17:57 PM
Here's the print I bought at a local consignment shop:

The picture made me think of an evil mastermind and her henchpet.  So I changed the picture to look like me and the cat to look like my Chihuahua, Petie.  We are awaiting instructions to activate the Craftster.org World Domination Ray.  The ray is poised and ready to make the entire planet Crafty Cool.

Detail of the World Domination Ray:

25  Patience is a virtue--lariat in Beads: Completed Projects by TwistedRedhead on: March 16, 2006 02:10:33 PM
Proof that I have way too much patience, or no life:

This is made of teeny tiny pearls and hand-tied.  The whole lariat is about four feet long.  Where the patience comes in?  I had to ream out every single pearl while trying to keep two Chihuahua's from eating the pearls.

This is the second lariat that I have made like this.  I love them, they are so beautiful and versatile.

26  Turquoise and Coral for Charity in Beads: Completed Projects by TwistedRedhead on: March 08, 2006 06:12:24 PM
I recently made this necklace for a silent auction for a local charity.  I'm not sure what I think of it, and I only have my husband's biased opinion.  Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also including the other two pieces in the auction.  I really like those two, it's only the turquoise/coral piece I'm not sure about.

27  Re: DIY Rubbery Bound Recipe Card Notepads in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by TwistedRedhead on: July 29, 2005 07:56:57 PM
I'm so happy I found this thread!  A couple of years back I had to order things from Archie McPhee in Seattle and when they fill your order, they send along a random gift.  They sent me the most HORRIBLE recipes from 1973.  My favorites are the Seafood Mousse (chilled in a fish mold and garnished with carrot peels and olives) and the Scalloped Potatoes and Tongue casserole.
