1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: New Jersey Dress for Fall - *Edit* Now with Tutorial! on: September 18, 2009 06:33:23 PM
Ohhhhhhh Lucy, it's phenomenal.  It's so elegant and simple that I'm considering unearthing the sewing machine I have buried somewhere.  Super design!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / My first wire wrapped pendant on: September 18, 2009 04:11:48 AM
Just had to preen a bit over my first attempt at a wire wrapped pendant.  I took a class last weekend, and I'm so glad I did.

It's not an LOL cat pendant, for sure, but I am going to adapt the technique to something less conventional.  Will post a picture of the new piece once it's done.

Peace out!

Darn.  Can't post a photo of the pendant I made over the weekend until I've made 10 posts.

Oh well.  2 down, 8 more to go!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Plastic Purse Handles of all sizes on: May 24, 2009 05:41:20 PM
Two things come to mind:  use them for book purses or do a destash or swap - I'm sure someone would love to take the surplus off your hands!

Love it!  If you used fancy magazines, like Town & Country (ads for very pricey jewelry), your local upscale lifestyle magaziine (most cities have these), jewelry supply catalogs (something else to snag b4 I throw out), Lapidary Journal (though I couldn't cut any of mine up) would be good places to locate gem photos.

I think using multiple colorful patterns, not necessarily jewelry, would also work well.

Great idea.
