1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post your CRAFTY Tattoos! on: September 26, 2010 02:42:03 PM
Thanks tlh878. That's really Mez's (my sister-in-law's) forte: realism. She does some AMAZING portraits.

Love all these! Not sure it's strictly "crafty" but it at least comes from an homage to "creative arts" so I figured I'd share mine:

It was done by my sister-in-law, who does amazing work.
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Eclectic mix: Joan Jett, Bettie Page, and Amelie on: August 04, 2009 06:45:12 AM
Thanks all! I'd like to take credit for the subject matter (i.e. the coolness that is Joan Jett) but it was really driven by my swap partners' tastes  Smiley )

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Share My Best Medium with 3 People Swap Gallery on: August 02, 2009 10:13:10 AM
Been MIA cause of vacation (and then post-vacation...stuff), but wanted to share the three lovely packages I received.

First was this lovely bag from TheSapphireMoon which worked PERFECTLY as a beach bag on my vacation (hence the delay in pics...wanted a shot of it in its "natural environment"

My friends on the trip were all uber-jealous of my bag.

Then there was this lovely cowl from Shablina:

I'm a big monochrome with a touch of red person so this is going to be perfect for me this fall....can't wait til the weather starts to cool a bit.

And last (but in NO way least), a really neat soft necklace and set of cards from cinnamon teal:

I love the necklace and the design on the cards is so intricate and just *pretty*.

Thanks so much girls!!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Dr. Who stenciled wall panels on: July 19, 2009 01:31:35 PM
Thanks! I just used freezer paper as I would for a t-shirt. The seal wasn't quite as tight (you can kind of see some of the resulting feathering in Rose's hair) but over all it worked well.
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Share My Best Medium with 3 People Swap(closed ; MAIL BY 7/13/09) on: July 14, 2009 06:29:52 AM
Just an FYI to the folks shipping to me (and our fair organizer)....I'm leaving town on Friday so if I don't receive/post before then, it's cause I'm out of town (won't be back til the 26th). My roommate will still be around to get the mail, so the packages won't be sitting on my porch forlornly or anything, I just won't be able to gush profusely about my goodies until I get back.  Smiley
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: John Waters-inspired slightly NSFW bookmark on: July 13, 2009 11:57:16 AM
Oh, I TOTALLY need this....I actually did break up with someone over this (OK, not totally, I was already feeling pretty meh about him, but when I got to see his place and he didn't own any books, that pushed it over the line  Cheesy)

Mine aren't quite dry, so I'm going to heatset tonight and then ship tomorrow.
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Some questions from a newbie for business on: June 22, 2009 06:30:38 AM
If you crochet and you use a pattern from a blog can you still sell that item even if it is a free pattern?

Most patterns, even those "free" on blogs, will include some sort of terms that say "not for resale" "for personal use only" or the like. Otherwise, you're profiting off of their work to create the pattern.
