Love all these! Not sure it's strictly "crafty" but it at least comes from an homage to "creative arts" so I figured I'd share mine:

Been MIA cause of vacation (and then post-vacation...stuff), but wanted to share the three lovely packages I received.

First was this lovely bag from TheSapphireMoon which worked PERFECTLY as a beach bag on my vacation (hence the delay in pics...wanted a shot of it in its "natural environment"

My friends on the trip were all uber-jealous of my bag.

Then there was this lovely cowl from Shablina:

I'm a big monochrome with a touch of red person so this is going to be perfect for me this fall....can't wait til the weather starts to cool a bit.

And last (but in NO way least), a really neat soft necklace and set of cards from cinnamon teal:

I love the necklace and the design on the cards is so intricate and just *pretty*.

I've been a very bad stalkee since I received Sat and am just posting now....excuses are a visit from my mom and then post-vacation insanity at work and after. However, there's really no excuse for not publicly acknowledging the awesomeness that Pink-Josy sent me:

She's a wist-stalking maven as most of this stuff is straight off my wist and all of it couldn't be more perfect. (She'd posted a teaser image awhile back--now gone--that had me thinking "Hmmmm....kind of my color-scheme...wonder if she's my stalker. And sure enough...)

To get into the details a bit:


A plate right off my wist. Apparently her first attempt at painting. I know all of you are in as much awe as I am hearing that...


A tea box similar to one I'd wisted. I've already pulled all my tea supplies of their random shelves and have them all conveniently stored inside.


A dandelion mug...again....firs t attempts at painting.  Talk about talent 


Some fun die-cuts for my own crafting purposes....you'd think she'd caught on to my fav color scheme or something 


Coasters made from old LPs (as my mom said when she saw those "[my] father would just die if he saw that"--a little to reverent of vinyl to condone this, but I love them) and a poptab bracelet that is right up my alley.

So fusbdgt is having camera issues and asked me to post the pics I took of what I sent (so if I'm on anybody's suspected stalker list, time to cross me off  )

She'd asked for a needle book in her questionnaire so I made a cathedral quilt-style one:



She'd also mentioned the need of a cell-phone bag and had a good pattern saved somewhere (I think on here Ravelry favs?) so I made this:



Then she requested earrings, and I just wanted to make her some stuff so I made this jewelry set:

And for the large, she'd wisted and faved an entrelac scarf that I'd also faved awhile back, so I tried my hand at making one:

Anyway, I had a ball crafting for her....gotta love the sneaky detective swap!

I've been eyeing tragicheroine's entrelac scarf for forever, so when I got a swap partner who had it both wisted and faved, I had to give it a try...


Everything they tell you about entrelac is true....it looks much more complicated than it is to do and the results are so worth it. Think the most important thing I was taught on this was how to knit backwards (i.e. so you don't have to turn). I can't imagine doing entrelac and having to turn as much as you would have to.

Anyway, thanks tragicheroine for the inspiration!

Made thes for a Doctor Who and spinoffs swap. A Tardis hat and Tardis fingerless gloves:



It was my first foray into intarsia/fair isle....seemed to go pretty well all things considered.

Was having a bit of an issue with the border, was going to be thin...then it splooged a bit, so I made it thicker and splooged again. Figured I should quit there before the border took over the whole shirt. Still, think it turned out pretty well overall, I just need to learn to be more patient and a little lighter on the paint.:
