1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dress help! on: June 25, 2008 01:51:24 AM
I'm not sure if this will help - but i hope it does!
Have you tried putting your iron onto steam and kind of hovering it above the shirring elastic?
I made a shirred top thing once and the steam shrinks the elastic to make it tighter.

perhaps getting a bit repetitive... but that's just gorgeous.

very nice Smiley
I've been meaning to make button earrings for a while, i may have to do it right this instant ( i should be studying also!)
I like how you covered them with fabric instead of using a plain button.

That looks wonderful, i love the shape and pleaty-ness!
5  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Anyone eat hummus? on: January 26, 2007 10:20:06 PM
It also tastes great mixed into soup, especially the vege kind that is slightly watery with vege bits in.  Odd sounding i know, but it makes the soup thicker and much yummier.
6  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Cheap Patterns in Brisbane on: January 25, 2007 11:35:59 PM
Hi everyone, first real post, eep!

My local craft/fabric store is closing down much to my dismay, and is selling all of it's patterns quite cheaply (the good part of the closing-ness i suppose).  I think they're cheap anyway, compared to normal sale prices that i've seen.  Burda and McCalls are buy one get two free (crazy!), and the rest are half price.  The shop is called Melissa's Fabric and is in Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre.  I'm pretty sure they still have quite a range left.
Hope this helps someone, somewhere Smiley.

Haha that's awesome.  I hate those Sam Kekovich (sp?) ads for Australia Day that are on TV at the moment.  He is going to be rather hot though.

They are freaking awesome.  Especially the elephant.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Not-the-typical pillowcase dress - IMG heavy-ish on: January 15, 2007 02:42:39 AM
Wow that pillowcase is amazingly awesome, and it looks just perfect reincarnated as a dress.

That's so cute! I may have to break my new years resolution (of saving and using up all the stuff i have accumulated!) to buy that pattern. Bah ha ha ha ha!
