1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pink cotton crocheted top on: April 28, 2013 01:53:29 AM

I couldn't resist this pretty pink cotton (Phildar Cotton 3, 62 Poudre). I wanted to make a vest, but crocheting with needle 2,5 was slow and I didn't even know if it would fit. So to be sure I frogged it and made this Drops design top (free pattern) instead. I adjusted the pattern to make it more modern. I didn't like the length so I left out the bottom part. Also I discovered the top has a collar (that doesn't show in the picture) so I left out that one too. I love the result; specially with this color green. I needed only 2 of 3 skeins, so it's a quick and inexpensive project. I will definitely make another one!

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Desert home on: April 10, 2013 12:13:46 PM

And the second result of art class... After the abstract and graphic painting I wanted to do an organic piece. The sketch is from my small sketchbook in which I reguraly doodle. I love the nice erratic effect. The result reminds me of those desert houses and I really enjoy those powdery colors...
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Abstract deer painting on: April 10, 2013 12:12:02 PM

The first result of my art class is finished! I must say I'm proud of this piece. It was always my wish to work with acrylics, to make an abstract painting and to make a large piece... This has it all! It's 35x35 inch by the way...

Hope you like it!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / MINI GRANNY SQUARE PLAID on: April 06, 2013 03:58:29 AM

H-A-P-P-Y- with capitals HAPPY I am! I have never worked on one project for so long. Not because I'm a slow crocheter, but just because this project 'hibernated' to much... This (sorry in Dutch) is how I started. Little 3 row granny squares joint as I worked. But it wasn't to my likings... Until I figured I could crochet white edges around each square to brighten things up... Now that the project was frogged anyway I could put back the squares as I liked... so in stead of rows of colors I just randomly joined the squares. Also I threw in squares with my fave color purple. Well... and working on a project that is to your liking goes a whole lot faster. So last week my plaid was finally - after nearly a year - finished! Just in time for spring/summer...  Smiley

Hope you like it!
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Birthday calendar on: April 05, 2013 10:47:26 PM

Just wanted to share the paper calendar I made... I use it for over two years now and I'm still super happy with it! I used paper from one block and the photo's and sheets can be changed whenever I like. There is a tutorial and printable at my blog if you would like to make one yourself: http://littlezdesign.blogspot.nl/2013/01/make-you-own-birthday-calendar.html
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Elephant Padma on: April 04, 2013 10:41:13 AM

I made this cutie for a newborn baby of one of my friends... I'm totally in love with it. I made it using a free pattern by Dawn Toussaint; it's easy to follow... Best thing is it's made in once piece, so no loose ends that you need to weave in and no small parts that may come of... 7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet plant pot cozy on: August 12, 2011 10:24:09 AM

Make these lovely crocheted pot cozies yourself. This one is made for a pot sized 10 cm (bottom) to 14 cm (top). Just adjust the amount of stitches according to the pot you are using. This may seem hard, but it's easy if you fit the cozy as you go along so you will see where to increase.

Start with a chain (I used 30) and close to a ring.

1: DC in the ring (as many as needed to create a flat circle)
2: DC, increase each 5 of 6 stitches (repeat this row if necessary and increase each 7 or 8 stitches)
3: SC (or DC if necessary to reach the size of the base of the pot) in each stitch and increase 5 stitches divided over this row
4: DC in the back loops of each stitched of the last row
5 - 7: DC in each stitc
8: Change color and SC in each stitch
9-10: Change back to base color and DC in each stitch

Repeat row 8 - 10 five times total (or as many as you like) until you reach the heigh of the pot. To widen to the top you will increase a few of the rows by increasing 3 stitches evenly divided per row. I increases two rows at bout 2/3 of the height of the pot with about 5 rows in between.

Edging of the pot:

1: SC in the back loops of the last row and decrease about evert 5 stitches
2: SC in each stitc and decrease about every 8 to 10 stitches
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Charm necklace (with link to tutorial) on: May 24, 2010 05:32:15 AM

This necklace is made from different sized beads and charms (most of them I got through swaps and thriftstores). Here is a tutorial: http://www.little-z.nl/uploads/blog/charm-necklace.pdf
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Songbird on: May 22, 2010 07:40:23 AM

Just a songbird in acrylic paint with some magazine-collage... It looks very decorative in my livingroom (which is decorated with (petrol) blue colors).
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Woodland notebook on: May 22, 2010 07:35:39 AM

I made this notebook for a swap. It's handbound using a coptic stitch and the cover is handmade out of beautiful woodland paper. And don't you just love those cardboard embellishments on the front cover? The book closes with ribbon.
