1  Re: My Country Doesn't Have That 8 (Ongoing) in The Swap Gallery by FrogPuddle on: July 09, 2007 09:02:17 PM
And without further ado- oh my god!!!!! Shazrasha spoiled me so much!!!!!!! I got the most wonderful fuzzy yarn (the pink is already planned as part of my 16 year old kitties new bed) and knitting and crafting magazines! theres even one that is from finland, which is an all-purpose magazine (fashion, puzzles, stories, recipes) i cant read it, but i *cant wait* to look through it!  I love the little lamb tape measure, and the sheep point protectors- i am in need of them desperatley!!!

I had mentioned in my application for the swap that i like japanese things-  ahhhh! im so excited, i used to live near an asian market and miss these koala cookies so very badly! She also gave me awesome little soysauce fish containers, and tiny condiment bottle!  I love things that are bento related Smiley  She also gave me beautiful origami paper and these cute little chocolate and strawberry candies, i cant wait to try them!

One of the things that i was most excited about entering this swap for was the candy (i just have this thing about foreign/european snacks and candy- i just adore it!) And my eyes nearly popped out of my head when i opened my box an just kept pulling out more and more candy, then i had to move the box to make room for it all on the table! Wow!  I had to fight my husband off so i could actually take pictures (he loves when i get swap packages Wink ) Though later, we shared Lindt truffles and "chomp" bars as we read our Harry Potter books Grin I cant wait to try everything!

With all of these great things, Shazrasha must have taken her time and researched me, because everything is so me and perfectly to my liking Smiley Seriously! Thank you, you are so awesome and have made me so happy, i really appreciate it!

2  Re: Altoid Tin Theme Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by FrogPuddle on: May 06, 2007 08:21:56 PM
McLianne sent me a wonderful Japanese/Geisha tin, it is incredibly beautiful!

She sent a card (wow!!! so pretty!)

Here is the inside of the tin (decoupage) i love that cart especially!

and the outside (decoupage-and the geisha scene has correspondingly colored glitter- it is quite stunning!!!) I love the bird scene, growing up, we had lamps with a scene much like this except the birds were blue on a white background

This is the pouch the tin came in, along with frog closures, an awesome bracelet, beads (love those faces!) and the cutest little book that was filled with japanese proverbs Smiley

Also in the tin was a ton of images that i cant wait to use in all of my paper crafting, they are quite beautiful!

Thank you so much McLianne!  I was blown away by the beauty of everything Smiley You have been a great partner!!

Hello Everyone!!! I received my tin from LuxieLou yesterday, and i love it so much!!!! Grin She picked my Hello Kitty theme:

The tin is covered in a beautiful shade of Mauvy pink clay and has little homemade hello kitties on it! (i wasnt sure at first, i had to look really close, they are that awesome!) I got alot of cool cupcake hellokitty stickers, a beautiful cupcake card (i love cupcakes so making her package was so fun, too), two sticker books, a resin keychain, three magnets, three charms (im going to use them as stitch markers for my knitting) and a hellokitty cupcake charm necklace!! The magnets are already on official fridge duty Smiley

This shows the interior of the tin which is lined with hello kitty fabric (so cute!!!) and the bottom of the tin which is absolutley awesome! It is the mauvy pink clay checkered with white.  I was hoping to get a clay covered tin after seeing some of LuxieLou's claywork on her site Smiley yay!!

Thank you so much!!!  I really love everything, especially since hello kitty isnt as easy to get as it used to be for me !   I never even knew there was a cupcake hello kitty theme! Smiley  You have been a great swap partner, LuxieLou!

Hello! I received the nicest things from my partners!!!

First, i received from Jazzybelle:She sent all of these great stickers and ribbon!! I love the sheep Smiley they are so adorable!! The ribbon in the back is this great mutli colored ribbon that fades from blue to silver and green- its really pretty!

I really like the beads too, the glass ones were hard to take pics of, and how did you know i like scotty dogs so much  Wink I'm a knitter, so she made super tiny needle and yarn out of thread and matches!!!! They are so cute!!!

Then i received from Clovergrace: Wow!!! I cant believe all that stuff came out of that little box (okay a few were on the outside, but...)  I must admit some seed beads escaped(the cats will find them later im sure!)

I love everything!! I love the cutesy buttons especially, like the lamb and lady bug, and the beads are all so pretty, especially the glass candy and teeny little turtles! (im sorry i lost alot of picture quality when i made the pic smaller, but another of my favorites is the  the strawberry shortcake and polka dot koi Smiley Thank you so much!

Then i received from JennyLeigh: She gave me such nice swatches of paper!! i especially like the origami paper!! it is gorgeous! She also gave me so stamps, a pin, cute fimo and lettered beads, bells, and other pretty knick knacks! Thank you so much Smiley

5  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - January 2007, Happy New Year! in The Swap Gallery by FrogPuddle on: January 08, 2007 10:34:24 PM
Hello! I just did something like a personal swap with Crnaofca, actually i randomly found a wist of hers (Book: "Knit 1, Kill 2" by Maggie Sefton) when i was putting together my wist page, asked her if she would like it (i had just finished reading it about a week earlier), and we exchanged suprise packages (well, except for the book, haha)! She was extremely nice and we communicated alot, and even though she is over seas and i am not, the packages only took 3 weeks surface mail! Huzzah!!

I don't have a picture of what i sent her, because until today, i didn't realize there was a gallery for personal swaps  Embarrassed, but i'll tell you: The book, "Knit One, Kill Two" by Maggie Sefton, Holiday 2006 Vogue Knitting Magazine (they dont have it where she lives), and three balls of Patons Lacette in Black- Oh, and a super cute penguin Christmas card!

She sent me this beautiful hat that she knitted (its more of a celery green than it shows, my camera's funny with color), 2 tiny bundles of festive ribbon, lovely variegated rainbow yarn, fuzzy silver boucle, and two emerald green sock wool balls (again, the color- they are green not black, haha!) I love it! i needed sock yarn badly!

She also sent somebeautiful earrings, the chartreuse one's are my favorite, and two incredibley adorable pins that she said are about 20-30 years old! Awesome!! I am absolutley in love with the bear with the child in his basket  Grin

Thank you Crnaofca!! You're the greatest!!

6  Re: Hogwarts At Christmas!/Plain Old HP Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by FrogPuddle on: December 07, 2006 08:48:28 PM
Today, i not only recieved Ralph's package, but also a ton of snow! i think that she bewitched the package to do that, Hermione is going to have some competition as the smartest witch in the grade! Thats NEWT material!  Grin

She sent me an awesome tank top with the Gryffindor Lion Crest on it! (why cant my stencils be this sharp? haha) I fits me really nice Smiley She also sent me a ton of hand collaged and painted cards, they are so beautiful!!! My favorite i think is the one with the dark mark and the lion crest on them. They even have matching envelopes!!!

Here is the back of the tank top (isn't that lettering great?) And along the bottom are stitch edged christmas ornaments (with matching colored felt on the back!) for each of the houses, and along top there are little badge pins in the same style that are also for each of the houses.  She made me a really pretty hedwig clay necklace with a burgundy leather cord and another grey owl pendant, and cute little clay trinkets with the gryffindor lion on them and one with a snitch! They are so cool, i can't do things like that, haha. I always burn my sculpy (oh the toxic fumes i have produced...)

She also made me silver ball ornaments with HP related pictures on them: Harry, Hermione, an owl, a dragon, the Gryffindor crest, and an "i want you for Dumbledore's army!"  haha!! they are cute.  I also got a big orange envelope  that holds a bunch of HP stamped envelopes, stickers and a HP stamped pad of paper, i really needed that because i moved away from everyone recently Smiley  The funniest part of Ralphs package is without a doubt, what Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia sent me!  A small piece of paper with "We recieved your message and enclosed your Christmas present. From Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia." written on it, and a 50 (piece? cents? I'm not sure cause it is Australian) coin. It is so cool! It has a kangaroo and a large ostrich like bird holding a crest! I love it!!

Thank you again Ralph!! I love it all so much! I'm going have a super Harry Potter Christmas sending cards (but not all of them, im greedy, haha) and hanging my wonderful Hogwarts Decorations! Thank you!  Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!

i am the luckiest girl because i recieved not one, but both of my swap packages this week and i have been spoiled rotten! I recieved from IScreamedMyselfHoarse earlier this week.

Mint Chocolate frogs!!! I LOVE mint chocolate (super yum!!!) One, well, didn't survive, um. he jumped away as soon as i opened the box... They have wizarding cards too!!! they are going in my HP books for bookmarks Cheesy.

She made me a hoodie with an appliqued Fawkes!! And i love Slytherin and Gryffindor, so i got a Slytherin Quidditch T from my one favorite seeker, and a wonderful Gryffindor hat from my other favorite seeker  Grin I cannot begin to tell you how much i love these, haha, i wrote poor ISMH a bout a 3 mile long reply of thanks!

And on the back of the tshirt.... Yay! it's so evil  Grin

Here is the back of the Fawkes hoodie, his name is appliqued in the same beautiful fabric of his body, and she sent me yarn (one of my great loves!) and rosy pink bamboo needles! This yarn isn't just any though, its a burgundy Merino Silk Cashmere blend, and i am so excited to find a project for it!  Now, i'm one of those silly Americans that never had Christmas Crackers before and i have been missing out! I put on all the paper crowns and my husband and i pulled them together and read jokes to each other, they are so fun!!

But the best part is what was also inside! ( i almost saved them for christmas) HP buttons and stitch markers!! There is a dragon, owl, yarnball and "iloveknitting".  They will spend their downtime as jewelry and the buttons already have a cozy home on my hoodie. And i can't forget that to accompany this there was an awesome letter that said who gave me the presents!! (with hillarious messages)
