6  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / The best stitch? on: May 28, 2007 12:36:52 AM
ok I have made a few jean rag quilts and I am now finding the jeans shredding beyond my stitches,  what is the best stitch to use when quilting? And how do I keep my stuff from fraying beyond the stitches?
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Second blue jean rag quilt on: May 12, 2007 06:49:14 PM
I just finished a rag quilt for my daughter. It hasn't been washed yet cause I need quarters for the washer. But I thought I would post before and after pics.

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / seam ripper on: May 08, 2007 10:29:59 PM
Is there a seam ripper out there that doesn't get dull after use? I have ripped seams out of several pairs of jeans and now all 3 of my seam rippers are dull and one even broke  Sad   Yes they are cheap enough but if there is one out there that won't go dull I need it. I am on a blue jean rag quilt roll. And now I have to wait to rip more seams until I can run to the local Walmart,
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / blue jean rag quilt on: May 08, 2007 08:36:37 AM
I finally finished my blue jean quilt it didn't take long to make the longest part was cutting the jeans up the rest just flew by. It needs a few more washings but I ran out of quarters and don't want to use my own washer.

10  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Almost finished ( pics added) on: May 01, 2007 11:31:14 PM
Last weekend I started cutting a bunch of jeans up for a rag quilt it's 7, 8 in squares across by 9 rows what ever anyways tonight when I got home from work I decided I felt like sewing a couple rows and the next thing I knew it was 12pm and all 9 rows are done. Now to just add a few little items and I can finish sewing it together and post my very first quilt ever made.

Please excuse the mess,  the paper is so I remember what row is which. I have to iron it and sew the long rows together and sew the patches on still.
