I've always wanted to knit socks, but I'm intimidated by DPNs. So, when I found a pattern for two needle toddler socks by a bunch of crazy kiwis (sorry I can't seem to find the link anymore), I thought I would give it a try.

The pattern worked up easily, but because it uses chunky yarn the socks came up looking more like booties.  I don't think they will fit nicely under my DS's shoes.    Also, the seem up the bottom of the foot and back is really ugly. (I may have done this part wrong. I've never sewn a knitted seam before.  )  

Anyways, my DS likes them, they fit him well, and they are always nice for around the house.  So, not a total loss.  Though, next time I think I'll pull out those DPNs.

Well, after years of seed bead weaving, I'd realized that I have never just strung beads on wire and have never used a crimp bead!    I decided this was a tragedy, and immediately started poring over artbeads.com for inspiration.  I found it!  Beautiful 6mm white swarovski pearls and 6mm pink cat's eye glass beads, and silver Special Mom pendants on sale!  This could only lead to one thing.

Here is the necklace I made my mom using the pearls, a Special Mom pendant, and some sterling silver flower beads.  The clasp is magnetic.

This is the necklace I made myself using the cat eye beads, a Special Mom pendant, and some sterling silver butterfly beads. The clasp is also magnetic. (My favorite).


Sorry the pics aren't great. The only thing I had on hand at the time for a "camera" was my scanner.

So, I was cleaning out my photobucket account and found some projects I forgot to post.

This is the Victorian Bear I made my sister last year for her birthday. (She loves Victorian Stuff). It is the first stuffed animal I ever made!! Her nose turned out a little squishy, but all in all I like it.

Hi All!!

I received an envolope in the mail today for Creative Woman Kit-of-the-Month Club by Annie's Attic. It states that if I join, each month I will be sent a different craft kit for a quick craft that is easy to do. It costs 12.99 per month plus shipping and handling.  It includes all different types of crafts - cardmaking, painting, beading, candlemaking, ect... I really like the crafts pictured in the flyers and am pretty excited about the club. However, every flyer that comes to my mailbox looks like a lot of fun, and like it would be a great thing to do.   

So, I was just wondering if anybody had tried this club yet?  Are the supplies of good quality?  Are the crafts really easy to do?  Exactly how much is shipping and handling?     Any feedback would be great.

So, I asked my nephew what he wanted for his birthday (coming up next month on the 20th), and all I got was a long list of tractor names, and parts, and what not.  I have absolutely no clue about tractors! 

So, I guess that is my question. What the heck to I get / make this kid for his birthday. (He will be six).
