1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Smurfy Halloween on: November 08, 2011 06:05:43 PM

Here's the smurf costume I made my son for Halloween this year.  It's pretty cold here already, so I made it all in fleece. I modified McCall's M4964 for the pants and hat, and used New Look 6800 (OOP pattern) as is for the top. He had a lot of fun skipping around collecting candy.

Thanks. This pattern was very nice to work with, very fast. I would love to see your version.

I thought this fabric was so cute. I had to make a bag out of it. I used the Bathina Bag pattern from Burda style found here: http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/3825

Thanks for looking.  Smiley

Very cute! I think a lettuce edge would look great around the bottom.

Love it!  I think I must make one for little P now.  Cheesy  It's nice to some crafty clothes for little boys.

Great top! Ditto about the colors. They work great together. I also love that you named your bike.  Cheesy

I started this top a long time ago, but life, moving, and cats (don't ask) kinda got in the way. Now (about a year later) I've finally decided to dig it out of the closet and finish it. I am so happy to have it done just in time for the warm spring weather. Yay! Here's some pics.

Oh, thanks for all the nice comments!

The pattern for the bag was my own. I just looked at a lot of pictures in my son's books to try and get it to look as close to the original as possible.

My son was Diego this year for Halloween, but all the rescue packs that are sold in stores are cheaply made. So, I made one myself...

And some (semi-)action shots:

Hee, Hee it's pretty bad, the only way I can get him to sit still is to turn on the TV!!

So, What do you think?
