1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / I'm no different on: May 10, 2007 06:54:18 AM
I know that there are a hundred different poeple out there who need help with mother's day gifts and I'm no different.
My mom loves anything as long as it has a picture of a mother and baby on it. but she has a lot of trinkets like that and I want to be more original.
she loves anything to do with children (mother of 6).
she loves to quilt.
loves to decorate (interior design).
She does NOT garden.
She loves the color green.

I was thinking about making an aplique of a mother and baby on some green fabric she could use for a pillow or wall hanging.  Thank you for reading, I would love to hear your ideas.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Stencil of a mother and baby on: May 10, 2007 06:32:45 AM
I need a stencil with a mother and a baby on it for mother's day. I would prefer it if the mother was holding the baby, but beggars can't be choosers.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What's your favorite era? on: May 05, 2007 01:09:44 PM
I have to say for me it's a toss up between 1940's and the 1920's. I love the creativity of the 1920's. But I love the crisp, tailered clothing of the 1940's. But generally I love it all the revolution of clothing is fascinating and I was wondering if anyone shared my love for it.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need help soon!, please look and comment on: November 26, 2006 12:04:24 PM
My mom gave me a pair of hand-me-down jeans and they fit perfectly except the waist is to high. What is the easyest way to shorten the waistband?, Has anyone ever done this before?, You're input would be greatly appreciated.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / the sleeves the bunch and the unbelieving mother on: August 23, 2006 09:13:08 AM
I'm very discouraged about my first try at t-shirt reconstruction.
I started out with a big, old kinda cute shirt. Sewed up the sides to make it fit and tried taking in the sleeves (which took a long time and pining) but they bunch!. Discouraged I ripped up the sleeve seams and took a rest my mom caught me gathering up my sewing stuff and asked me "why had I ripped up my shirt?". I told her and then she gave me the "sure, you try that and when it doesn't work you're going back to sewing with patterns". Look. Now if I mess up she wont let me try again on another shirt. So please if you have any sudjestions please comment.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / ideas and help needed please on: August 19, 2006 08:55:24 AM
I'm new to craftster but I've been crafting for a while and I need ideas on how to use to big for me stretch knit tops and a pair of jeans (that are again to big). I'm not in to making quilts but I don't want to throw them away. I would like to resize the T-shirts to make them fit me but I'm not really experienced in resizing. any ideas or tutorials would be much appreciated.
