Hooray! I saw vegjess last night so now I can post the other two things I made for her bday!  Grin

Class/Challenge/House Pride: House Pride!
House: Slytherin!
Project Name: Slytherin & Ravenclaw House Tie Necklaces
Project Page Link (if available): Tie Necklace Tutorial
Brief Description: I know this fits unity better, but I already turned in for that so  Tongue, lol. I wanted to make the 'Claw one book colors, but getting the entire tie bronze was a pain. I think it looks good this way, too.  Wink
Project Picture:

Class: History of Magic (HoM) - Midsummer
House: Ssssssslytherin
Project Name: Honey Bee Necklace
Project Page Link (if available): Inspiration from her pin on Pinterest. I am not so good with the wire wrapping, but I found these tear drop charms to create a similar look to the necklace she pinned.
Brief Description: In my own research I found that St. John, who is celebrated during Midsummer, is the patron of beekeepers!

Class: Potions
House: Slytherin!
Project Name: Zombie Paracord Survival Bracelet
Project Page Link: Mated Snake Braid Video Tutorial
Brief Description: The black and green cord's name is Zombie. I'm not sure how you'd use 12ft of paracord to keep you from the undead. Maybe you could tie yourself up in a tree? o.O

Challenge: Quidditch - Stooging
House: Ssssslytherin!
Project Name: Brownies for Bosses
Project Page Link (if available): Fake It Frugal
Brief Description: I was recently promoted at my current job and to thank my bosses I wanted to bake some brownies for them. I went to open a box mix I had and the bag was damaged! Shocked As always, I was doing this last minute and scrambled for an easy recipe so I didn't have to go to Publix and buy another/return the damaged mix. I found this easy copy cat recipe that I will definitely end up using again! It saves money and time and is very easy to make. I added walnuts and chocolate chips to my batch.
Project Picture:

Because I was baking for four people and wanted to have plenty of treats for them, I had intended to make two batches of brownies. The first batch was from a box and is on the right, but the brownie on the left is the copy cat recipe. They were very yummy and a great replacement to my usual box mix!  Wink

Challenge: House Unity
House: Sssssssslytherin
Project Name: Dishwasher Safe Sharpie Mugs
Project Page Link: Tutorial - Scribbles from Emily
Brief Description: I'm going for Unity, since this mug is for one of my favorite 'Claws, vegjess ! Grin The mug I found already had blue stripes on it, so I filled in the spaces with gold/bronze and added the letters and heart.
Project Picture:
Ignore my awkward holding of the mug. I'm a righty trying to hold it with my left hand whilst taking the picture!  Cheesy

I hope I see her soon (hint, hint) before I end up posting everything I made her for her birthday earlier this month!  Tongue

::Frantically runs down the corridor with homework in hand, sliding about and knocking into other students along the way. Apologies will come later, I've got to turn this in!!!::

Challenge: Quidditch - Portkey
House: Slytherin!
Project Name: Flower pen!
Project Page Link (if available): Fabulous Flower Pens
Brief Description: I tried to find a place the least inhabited by Muggles I could find. These guys were very curious, so I made sure I placed my portkey enough on the other side of the fence as to not be bothered. I'm not sure what the rules are on having cows at the QWC... :S
Project Picture:
(ETA pic of the actual pen. Daylight was burning so I ran away to take pictures as soon as I finished!)

::GASP:: Did I make it? Did I make it?!

::Hoping the headmistresses aren't too annoyed with late submissions yet, as I slip mine in the stack of parchment.::

Challenge: Bertie Bott's Bean - Blackberry
House: Slytherin!
Project Name: Banana bread muffins with chocolate chips
Project Page Link (if available): Well, it's been adapted some from a banana bread recipe I got ages ago, so here's the recipe for the muffins themselves:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 very ripe mashed bananas
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3/4 cup chocolate chips (I used a mixture of regular and minis.)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease muffin pan. I lined them with sugar instead of using cups.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar and add vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Blend in the mashed bananas. Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until it tests done with a toothpick.

I ended up with 16 muffins, but I was trying to keep them on the small side. You could easily make it 12 and have them big and puffy.  Wink

Brief Description: My PaPa bought a box of bananas and I had to make something with my bunch before they went bad! A lot more got put up in the freezer for smoothies! Wink
Project Picture:
I meant to take one with a cut open or bitten one so y'all could see the inside of them, but every time I started eating one I forgot about the picture... whoops.  Cheesy
So here's the only one I got that I posted to my Hipstergram yesterday-

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology - Cherries!
House: Sssssslytherin!
Project Name: Bourbon Cherries
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: I've seen Bourbon Cherries before, but none made out of the Rainer variety (aka my favorite kind!). I didn't have a fancy cherry pitter, so I just used a chopstick to push the pits out. Then pour your favorite Bourbon over the cherries. Shake once every few days and steep for about a month. I am sure I will lose patience before then, but I will try my best!  Cheesy
Project Picture:

They look so pretty! I can't wait to see how it all turns out! You can use the flavored Bourbon in cocktails and eat the cherries as a boozy snack or on top of ice cream!   Wink

Class: Apparition
House: Slytherin, of course!  Roll Eyes
Project Name: Dessert Pedestals
Project Page Link: None needed. It's pretty simple and I believe in you! You can do this!
Brief Description: Our Dollar Tree has lots of interesting glassware that I wouldn't normally use. From that stash I found a small plate and bowl that I thought would look good with a cupcake on them and a couple of candlesticks. I waved my wand foolishly and shouted a silly incantation and *poof* dessert pedestals! (You can also use glass adhesive in a pinch. Wink )
Project Picture:

I just got off of work at 07:30, so I'm not really feeling the whole making cupcakes thing right meow. (Eating them, on the other hand...) Until my next bout of baking, I'm using these lovelies as props. Wink

Hope everyone has a lovely day! I'm off to Zzz...!  Grin

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Study of Ancient Runes - gebō or Gyfu
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Patriotic Cake Pops
Project Page Link: Inspiration from Party City. I had actually found the picture on Pinterest and just now found the how-to. We ended up going by Bakerella's Red Velvet Cake Ball Recipe because we LURVE us some red velvet!  Grin
Brief Description: Tonight I helped my mom make these cake pops for her ID4 Goodie Day at work tomorrow. I feel this fits for SoAR by showing a generous spirit.
Project Picture:

There *may* have been a few more than was needed for flag that went home with me  Roll Eyes ... That doesn't take away any points, does it?  Cheesy

Challenge: Detention in the Dungeons June - Kitchen Duty
House: Sssssslytherin!
Project Name: (Less than) 10 minute Cake Batter Fudge
Project Page Link: Shamelessly taken from Baked from a Box. I do enjoy the recipes and writing from this blog. You should check it out! Smiley

(ETA recipe to post) I made a few adaptations based on what I had in my kitchen at the time. This is for my double batch version of the recipe, the picture shown using a 7.75x7.75 pan.

Cake Batter Fudge
    2 cup white cake mix
    2 cup powdered sugar
1 stick butter, cut into small squares
    1/2 cup half and half
    sprinkles

Mix cake mix and sugar in microwave-safe bowl. Add butter and half and half. Don’t stir.
Microwave for 4 minutes. Stir immediately until completely combined. Add sprinkles. Do not overmix as sprinkle colour may bleed.
Spread into greased pan. Refrigerate for at least one hour. I let mine cool on the stove top for the first 20 minutes since I had used an aluminium pan and it was HOT after pouring the batter in. No need to heat up your fridge!

Brief Description: This fudge takes less than 10 minutes to make, is made entirely in the microwave, and then placed in the fridge to set up. And the batter? OMG it smells and tastes wonderful! I challenge you to make this and NOT lick the bowl/spoon/wisk/spatula!   Wink
Project Picture: I was excited to actually finish something after a crazy couple of weeks, so the pic I'm posting is before it's completely set!  Cheesy I used white cake mix since I didn't have yellow. I can't wait to try this again with other flavor mixes or flavored sprinkles/bits!
