I want to make (knit) a snood like this one. All the patterns I find are for larger ones. I do want it to go up on top of my head in order to hold it in place, but the net part I want low and small. Anyone out there know?

I know, there are a million threads discussing this age old technique, but i want to make furniture out of this stuff. I saw a picture of a beautiful wooden hall table made by this guy and the two front legs were made from paper mache over steel and I swear they looked amazing. Do any of you know if this is the same type of paper mache we made as kids? Is flour and h2o just as good as wallpaper paste? Any advice you have about making "high" art with paper mache would be quite helpful.

If you attend large festivals (like bonaroo) what are the crafty items you are drawn to? What do you/would you spend money on and waht are you sick and tired of seeing?

I'f I'm knitting a standard stockinette swatch, what do I do to get a design in there just by changing a stitch? This is all in the same color yarn. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about because I am so brain dead right now.

I'm going back to college. Again. I'm really old to be doing this and I am nervouse. Anyone on craftster going to Sage? I'd love to start a meet-up kind of thing every once in a while to knit or sew or paint or what ever. I'll be finishing up the BFA with a concentration in painting and would really like to meet some like minded folk.

That's one of the terms my parents used in the 70's. It was so stupid. And TaTa's was another. Anyway, to the point, right? Has there been a BRA challenge?

Ahhh...... the fair. It's a place I no longer have to be. And I so do miss those carnies. Why was I there? 4H. Being there all week gave me the chance to look at all the vendor crap, too. But on the last day, while my little one was on the kiddie rides, I saw someone with actual crafts. CRAFTS, I tell you. One was a water bottle holder openly "woven" out of fabric strips. It wasn't flimsy. And I liked it. I didn't see and stitching, either, so i don't think sewing was involved. Of course, I didn't buy one, because I figured someone might know how to make one. And besides, I've been trying to knit one with out any luck. So, I must end this uber-long post. Sorry I ramble.

Hey crafty gals and guys..... When making purses and wallets, what type of closures do you prefer? Which ones look the most "professional"? Which do you avoid like the plague? And, lastly, have you ever come up with a truly cool and unique (and CRAFTY) way to close up a bag?
