1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sideshow knitting... on: February 23, 2009 11:34:29 AM
I can knit while walking around, I keep the yarn under my right arm or in my sweatshirt pocket. I can even do that with DPNs in the round. I can also knit seed stitch and ribbing in the dark or while reading, I check to see if I've messed up by feel.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / baby blankets for twin boys? on: September 15, 2008 08:24:05 PM
A friend of the family is having twins, twin boys. I want to make some baby blanket, but I have no idea what pattern to use. So I'm posting to craftster for ideas!  I need something that would work up fairly quick, not be so challenging that I'm pulling my hair out, but not so easy that I'm going to be bored making two of them. Nothing with eyelets, nothing with fun fur, give me your best shot. I'm cross-posting this to crochet.

D'awwwwwwww. That is the most adorable depiction of a conductor/composer ever! Seriously, those paintings on my orchestra teacher's history of music posters are a little scary, this is adorable and makes me want to make one to get kids excited about symphony music.

OMG, Raffi, I only have one friend whose even heard of him, and he only knows banana phone, I listened to singable songs and corner grocery store almost constantly when I was little.
9  COOKING / Dessert / Re: My Peanutbutter Chocolate-chip Cookie Recipe on: May 07, 2008 09:47:44 AM
i just find that margarine bakes better, you're less likely to end up with puddle-rock cookies, plus it makes the mixture easier to mix if you don't have an electric mixer, like i do.
