1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Merry T-ReXmas on: December 29, 2013 09:02:40 PM
There is an inside joke with my siblings about my having "T-Rex arms" so, of course, for Christmas, I just had to make my brother and sister T-Rex tree ornaments.

Dollar Store toy, spray painted silver. The scarf is ribbon and both the bells and the little candy cane were in my stash from previous projects. Very low cost for a great amount of laughter while decorating.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Back on the Chain(Maille) Gang on: June 07, 2013 12:51:32 PM
Hi all.

Been a long while since I did anything chain related so I figured I'd start myself out small and slow on this rainy afternoon.

Mobius flowers fit the bill!
(Sorry for the crap quality; only have access to the mobile's camera right now!)

The red ones are made with 3 colored rings (and yes, are dented and scratched but that's because I am doing an experiment with ToolMagic to see how it works in comparison).
Pink ones have 5 colored rings.
Silver ones have 6 rings in the flowers.

I'm also working on a bracelet with smaller, silver ones now. Cheesy
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Melt and Splatter - Crayon Art on: June 05, 2013 09:41:29 AM
I've been seeing lots of crayon melt art around and decided it was my turn to give it a shot. Smiley Went for the splatter method instead of the drip and I love it.

(Sorry for the crap photos - I'm down to using only my cell.)

ETA: It's 14"x17" for those wondering.

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire on: May 29, 2012 11:47:48 AM
With S2 almost done and another book off in the far distance, anyone up for a swap based on the books and/or show?
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / recycled book pumpkin on: October 07, 2011 02:53:10 PM
I think this is the right area for this. If not, I apologize!

I recently picked up a few books from a "Free Book Day!" at my college library for crafting purposes (cannot make me sacrifice my own babies!!) but I didn't have many of the other supplies I needed for various projects on hand. So, inspired by the amazing project found here http://urbandaisies.blogspot.com/2010/09/book-page-pumpkins.html I made one for my aunt who is recuperating after a nasty fall.

My version!

Cost of project: Less than $2!
Pumpkin $1
Spanish Moss $1 for a bag, only tiny bit used
Pages Free from school library (Not the Belgariad! It was some history book!)
Mod Podge In my stash already
Stick Free from my tree

Quick and easy project. I am definitely making more for my own home.
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Lannister Cross-Stitch - Hear Me Roar! on: June 17, 2011 10:52:31 AM
My second cross-stitch ever and it is of a pattern I made in KG Chart. Cheesy Love the program - very easy to use.

Anywho,

Lannister Lion from Game of Thrones.
(Don't hate me!! xD)
((I suppose it could be Gryffindor, too, but it's based of the HBO Lannister wallpaper.))

I made a couple of mistakes here and there but I like it. Cheesy Hoping to put it in a frame or a smaller hoop once I decide if I want to outline it with a black back stitch or add the family name and/or words to it.

Thanks for looking!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / my first cross-stitch! (warning: profanity) on: June 09, 2011 09:11:14 AM
I have two friends who recently convinced me to try my hand at cross-stitch. As a jewelry maker, I was a little apprehensive but they pointed me toward http://www.subversivecrossstitch.com/ where I could get a kit complete with all the needed supplies and instructions. I found one I likes and figured, 'why not?" Cheesy

I'm very glad they talked me into it.

I'm now officially addicted and am just waiting for a bit more disposable income to come through so I can buy more supplies and patterns!

If anyone has any recommendations for beginner level patterns, I'd love to have them.

Thanks so much for looking. Smiley

ETA: Wow. This is my 500th post! Cheesy
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Memory Wire Bracelet Overload! on: April 13, 2011 12:00:45 PM
I haven't used memory wire in a long time so, naturally, I forgot just how addictive it was! And what a great stash buster I could be when I have it! All my seed beads and gemstone chips I've been hoarding? Ayup. Bracelets bracelets and more bracelets!

Amethyst and swarovski crystal

Howlite and swarovski crystal

Snowflake obsidian and swarovski crystal

I call this one 'Starry Night" because it reminds me of the colors in that painting.

Blackstone, clear quartz, marble focal bead and swarovski crystals.

Next order of business? Make a lightbox!
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Necklace on: April 07, 2011 02:43:03 PM
I'm calling it "Ann" after my grandmother. Smiley

It's Russian Serpentine beads with Mother of Pearl discs.

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Experimental Slave Bracelet on: April 07, 2011 01:18:53 PM
This slave bracelet came from my experimenting with a new technique. I had started out with the hopes of making a full bracelet but it unfortunately broke mid-construction so I did some reshaping and voila...
